Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solenoid driver which determines the position of a plunger of an electromagnetic solenoid without a separately installed sensor for detecting the position of the plunger.
SOLUTION: The solenoid driver detects the inductance of the coil 22 of the electromagnetic solenoid that changes in response to the position of the plunger of the solenoid. The solenoid driver, therefore, determines the position of the plunger based on the inductance of the coil 22 without the separately installed sensor for detecting the position of the plunger. The solenoid driver, particularly, detects the inductance of the coil 22 based on the response time of a coil current while a pulse voltage is applied for plunger drive. This solenoid driver eliminates the need of separately applying a pulse voltage for detecting the inductance of the coil 22 in addition to the pulse voltage for plunger drive, thus enabling efficient detection of the inductance of the coil 22.

(C) 2006年,JPO&NCIPI
