Abstract:
Abstract of DisclosureGiven a CD-ROM drive having a plurality of speed ranges selectable in n-fold graduation and having linearly reduced rotational speeds within each speed range respectively between outer and inner sector and having the prescription that a reduction of the rotational speed automatically ensues given a negative read result, control means are provided that effective switching into a lower speed range when a predetermined noise level is upwardly transgressed and/or when vibrations occur.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of selection and individual compilation of services, and the issue of a voucher entitling utilization of the compiled services, together with an arrangement for the implementation of this process. The selection and compilation process and the issue of a voucher are spatially and temporally separated from each other. Data records identifying the selection can be transferred from an information terminal (10,12,14) to a voucher machine (30).
Abstract:
A housing is disclosed for electronic equipment (10) in which a printed circuit board (28) can be inserted. Another printed circuit board (32) can be vertically plugged onto the first. The second printed circuit board (32) can protrude through an aperture (22) in a wall (18) of the housing. A supplementary housing (14) can be set on the wall (18) of the housing (12) provided with the aperture (22). The surface (24) of the supplementary housing (14) adjacent to the housing (12) is provided with an opening (26) which leaves free the aperture (22).
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method of operating buffer storage systems in multi-processor central processing units with coupling by means of bus systems. The data transfer of an input-output system acting on a memory array which is located exclusively in a buffer memory is first interrupted, produces the marking PURGED, and then brings about re-writing in the main memory, whereupon the marking changes to INVALID and the interrupted data transfer can be repeated.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for changing the direction of conveyance of single, rectangular sheets (10) conveyed in series in a sheet-turning station connecting at least one feed belt (6) to at least two discharge belts. The turning station has two substantially rectangular, flat, parallel guide members (46) which delimit a guide gap (48) for holding a sheet (10) therebetween, said guide gap (48) being attached on one rectangular side to the feed belt (16) and on at least two other rectangular sides to the discharge belts. One of the guide members (46) has at least one opening (54) in which a friction roller (56) engages with its peripheral surface, is intended to be positioned on a sheet (10) in the guide gap (48), is mounted in a fork (58) to be pivotable about an axis (60) parallel to the plane of the guide members (46), and can be driven using a roller drive (72, 74). The fork (58) is mounted to be pivotable about an axis (66) of rotation perpendicular to the plane of the guide members (46) and can be pivoted by a fork drive (68) between two perpendicular end positions.
Abstract:
A raster unit (SRA) for generating low-definition matrix-like image data and an image-reproducing unit (ZG) for reproducing high-definition matrix-like image data are coupled to each other by means of a functional unit (HSC) which contains a register unit (PB-FIFO) to which data words of the image data can be fed. A decision unit (DUC) extracts from the register unit (PB-FIFO) the data necessary for converting a low-definition pixel (A1..A16) to be converted. The matrixes of high-definition pixels (HP) are emitted by an output unit (OUTC) to the image-reproducing unit (ZG). Preferably a plurality of pixels (P) are converted in parallel.
Abstract:
Non-erasable or alterable storage of data records in a device in which initialisation establishes the format of the data record and determines those data fields on which summation is possible.
Abstract:
A reversing device for strip print media (10) in an electrographic printer for simplex and duplex operation contains two acute-angled deflectors in the form of two reversing triangles (33, 35) with a straight deflector (34, 36) and an oblique deflector (32, 37) at an angle of about 45 DEG thereto. The reversing triangles are mutually set apart at an angle ( alpha ) of 10 to 20 DEG so that the print medium is spread in the region between the converging ends of the oblique deflectors (32, 37). Thus the feed end and the outgoing print medium (10) are directly adjacent each other. Automatic threading is facilitated by a threading device with an internal conveyor belt (46).
Abstract:
The image processing device contains a store (SP) into which data can be written sequentially and read out in the same sequence. Access to data read out once is not possible a second time. A spacing unit (AB) of the invention is fitted between the store (SP) and a control logic (CL). Said spacing unit (AB) makes it possible for the control logic (CL) to access image data (P) which have already been read out of the store (SP). The distance unit (AB) always keeps the pixel required available to the control logic (CL).
