    Abstract: A rotation angle detection apparatus capable of reducing the cost and having a small thickness is provided. The rotation angle detection apparatus includes: a housing; a rotating shaft rotatably disposed in the housing; a first internal gear disposed concentrically with the rotating shaft and fixed to the housing; a second internal gear disposed concentrically with the rotating shaft, and rotatably disposed in the housing, the second internal gear having a number of teeth different from a number of teeth of the first internal gear; an external gear rotatably disposed at a position separated from the rotating shaft in rotating body, the external gear meshing with the first internal gear and the second internal gear; and a detection section that detects a rotation angle of the second internal gear.

    Abstract: A contact type rotation sensor includes a contact brush having a contact and an electrical resistor disposed for sliding motion relative to the contact. The contact brush provided at a side face of an arm portion with a projecting piece has asymmetric shape and asymmetric weight distribution about its longitudinal axis, and is large in moment of inertia in a direction of torsion. During relative sliding motion, suppressed torsional vibration of the contact occurs not only at natural frequencies but also at dispersed frequencies other than natural frequencies, reducing the sound pressure of sliding sound. A stable contact state is ensured between the contact and the electrical resistor, resulting in improved durability.

    Abstract: An easy-to-design rotary operation type electronic component is provided. The component includes a columnar control shaft; a shaft supporter having a circular through shaft hole; an electrical signal control section which is attached to one end of the shaft supporter and allows an electrical signal to be controlled by rotary operation of the control shaft; and a cylindrical spring which is held in a spring holding space formed between the outer periphery of the control shaft and the inner periphery of the through shaft hole, and has a ring shape with an opening cut in the direction of the central axis. The cylindrical spring includes a plurality of leaf spring portions which extend in the direction of the central axis of the control shaft, are connected together in the circumferential direction of the control shaft, and are arranged on the outer periphery of the control shaft.

    Abstract: A click mechanism for an electric part comprises a spring 50 made of a plate material and disposed on a rotatable plate 40 that rotates integrally with a rotationally-manipulated shaft of an electric part, a click piece 60 disposed on the outer perimeter of the rotatable plate 40 so as to retractably protrude from the outer perimeter, and projections and depressions 25 formed on the inner perimeter of a housing 22 for the rotatable plate 40 to be arranged in the circumferential direction of the inner perimeter. The click piece 60 is cylindrical and biased by the spring 50 to be in resilient contact with the projections and depressions 25 at the perimeter thereof. The click mechanism can produce a fine and clear click feel, has high durability, and can be reduced in size.

    Abstract: With a resistor, a variable resistor, and a method for manufacturing a resistor according to the present invention, it is possible to eliminate lead and prevent deterioration of sliding characteristics. A resistor according to the present invention is disposed on an insulating layer. The resistor has: a more-conductive-material-containing layer containing more conductive materials than insulating materials; and a more-insulating-material-containing layer that does not contain lead and that contains more insulating materials than conductive materials. The more-conductive-material-containing layer has a polished surface. For example, the film thickness of the more-conductive-material-containing layer in a low-resistance region having a resistance value smaller than or equal to a prescribed value is larger than the film thickness of the more-insulating-material-containing layer in a high-resistance region having a resistance value larger than the prescribed value.
