    Abstract: PURPOSE:To raise the speed of a missile by a method wherein a plurality of stages of a plurality of electric power supplying rails, having different opposing directions of parallel conductors from each other, are connected through an insulating body provided with a penetrated hole for passing the missile and individual electric current sources are connected to respective electric power supplying rails while a plurality of armatures are secured to the rear part of the missile through insulating plates respectively. CONSTITUTION:When a throwing switch 26 is thrown, magnetic fields 34 are generated between electric power supplying rails 21 by current 33A, 33B conducted through parallel conductors 21A, 21B from an electric current source 27 whereby the current 33c is conducted through an armature 29 and a missile 23 is accelerated into X-direction by a Lorentz force. When an insulating body 25 is arranged at a position whereat the armature 29 becomes plasmatic and begins to be separated from the missile 23 and the armatures 30 after the starting of the missile 23, the missile 23 passes through a penetrating hole 24 to enter between next electric power supplying rails 22, then, power supply from the electric current source 27 is stopped whereby plasma by the armature 29 is eliminated. However, the metallic fins 32 of the armatures 30 are contacted with the electric power supplying rails 22 whereby the armatures 30 receive electric power newly from the electric current source 28 through another electric power supplying rails 22 and missile 23 is accelerated further by a magnetic field 35 generated by a current 34 conducted through the parallel conductors 22A, 22B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a plasma armature easily with good reproducibility by a method wherein line explosion plasma is blown into an accelerating hole through a fine hole and arc discharge is generated to form the plasma armature by a plasma forming material at a specified place. CONSTITUTION:A total current is conducted at first through a line explosion circuit simultaneously with the starting of electric discharge while plasma, generated by line explosion, is blown into an accelerating hole 2 through a fine hole 11. This phenomenon can be confirmed from the initial small peak of a signal from an optical probe provided near the small hole. When the value of current has arrived at about 20 KA after about 10 mus, new arc discharge is generated at a place whereat the fine hole 11 between rail electrodes 1, 1 is located and the current of the line explosion circuit is attenuated suddenly simultaneously with the generation of the arc discharge whereby the total current is shifted to an arc discharge current quickly. An arc discharge plasma 13 becomes a plasma armature moving with a speed of about 2.5-3.0 Km/s which can be understood from the optical probe signals of respective positions.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily obtain a method and an apparatus for effectively reducing noise generated by explosion while maintaining excellent operability and to increase a noise reducing effect by rapidly reducing pressure of blast generated in an exploding chamber, and reducing noise to an extremely low level. CONSTITUTION:An exploding chamber 1 is a vessel made of a steel plate having 25mm of thickness (made of SS41), cylindrical at its center having 6m of diameter and 2m of length, semispherical at upper and lower ends having 3m of radius, and surrounded at its periphery by reinforced concrete 2 having 500mm of thickness. An entrance/exit 3 having 1200mm of width and 2000mm of height is provided at the chamber 1, and a blast attenuation passage 4 is mounted to be connected to the entrance/exit 3. The passage 4 is made of steel (SS41) and rectangular shape having 2400mm or height and 1500mm of width. The passage 4 is bent at six positions, its total length is about 13m, and uneven parts of wavy shape having about 50mm of depth are formed at a wall and a ceiling from the chamber to a lattice door 6.
