Phenyldiketone derivatives have the formula (I), in which the substituents have the following meanings: L, M are hydrogen, C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, C2-C6 alkinyl, C1-C4 alkoxy optionally substituted by 1 to 5 halogen atoms or C1-C4 alkoxy, halogen, cyano, nitro, a group -(Y)n-S(O)mR7 or a group -(Y)¿n-CO-R?8; Z is a 5 or 6 membered saturated or unsaturated heterocyclic rest that contains 1 to 3 heteroatoms selected from the group that includes oxygen, sulphur or nitrogen, optionally substituted by halogen, cyano, nitro, a group -CO-R8, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 halogen alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 halogen alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, C1-C4 halogen alkylthio, di-C1-C4-alkylamino or an optionally substituted phenyl ring, and that forms a bicyclic system together with a condensed carbon cycle or a second condensed heterocycle; Y is O, NR9; n equals 0 or 1; m equals 0, 1 or 2; R7 is C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 halogen alkyl or NR?9R10; R8 is C¿1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 halogen alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy or NR?9R10; R9¿ is hydrogen or C¿1?-C4 alkyl; R?10 is C¿1-C4 alkyl; and R1 is cyclopropyl, 1-methylcyclopropyl, 1-methylthiocyclopropyl or tertiary butyl. The invention concerns saccharine derivatives of formula (I) in which the substituents are defined as follows: L, M hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, C1-C4 alkylthio, chlorine, cyano, methylsulphonyl, nitro or trifluoromethyl; Z hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C3-C8 cycloalkyl, C3-C6 alkenyl, C3-C5 alkinyl, C1-C4 acyl, benzyl or phenyl, wherein any of the phenyl rings may be substituted by halogen or C1-C4 alkyl; Q a T-J group, T being a carbonyl (CO) group or the -CHY group, J being an isoxazole ring of formula (II) bonded at the 4-position and in which R1 is hydrogen or C¿1?-C4 alkyl, R?2 is C¿1-C4 alkyl, cyclopropyl, 1-methylcyclopropyl or 1-methylthiocyclopropyl, Y is an OH-group, a hydroxy group acylated with C2-C4 acyl, or a chlorine atom. α-phenylbutenic acid methyl esters of formula (I) are disclosed, wherein -- represents a single or double bond and the index and substituents have the following meanings: n is 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4; R1 represents nitro, cyano, halogen, alkyl, alkyl halide or alkoxy; R2 represents hydrogen, nitro, cyano, halogen, alkyl, alkyl halide, alkoxy, alkylthio or alkoxycarbonyl; R3 represents optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or alkinyl; an optionally substituted saturated or mono or biunsaturated ring which in addition to carbon atoms can contain 1-3 heteroatoms chosen from oxygen, sulphur and nitrogen, as ring members, or an optionally, substituted mono or binuclear aromatic group which in addition to carbon atoms can contain 1-4 nitrogen atoms or one or two nitrogen atoms and an oxygen or sulphur atom or an oxygen or sulphur atom as ring members. Also disclosed is a process for the production of the claimed compounds and the use thereof against harmful fungi or animal pests.
