Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft benzoylsubstituierte Phenylalanin-Amide der Formel I in der die Variablen R 1 bis R 15 die in der Beschreibung genannten Bedeutungen haben, sowie deren landwirtschaftlich brauchbaren Salze, Verfahren und Zwischenprodukte zu ihrer Herstellung, sowie die Verwendung dieser Verbindungen oder diese Verbindungen enthaltende Mittel zur Bekämpfung unerwünschter Pflanzen.

4-Aryl-1-difluoromethoxyimidazoles of formula (I) are disclosed, where the substituents R?1 and R2¿ have the meanings given in the description. Compounds of formula (I) are effective herbicides and can be used for the treatment of undesired plant growth. Furthermore, compounds of formula (I) are suitable for the desiccation and/or defoliation of plants, in particular, of cotton. The invention further relates to herbicidal agents and agents for desiccation and/or defoliation of plants.

Also disclosed is a process for preparing the hetaroyl derivatives, agents containing the same, as well as the use of these derivatives or the agents containing the same for controlling undesirable plants.
