The present invention relates to herbicidally active compositions, which comprise 3-[5- (difluoromethoxy)-1 -methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)pyrazol-4-ylmethylsulfonyl]-4,5-dihydro- 5,5-dimethyl-1,2-oxazole [common name pyroxasulfone] and at least one herbicide B which is selected from inhibitors of the phytoene desaturase. The invention furthermore relates to the use of a composition as defined herein for controlling undesirable vegetation in crops. When using the compositions of the invention for this purpose the herbicide A and the at least one herbicide B can be applied simultaneously or in succession in crops, where undesirable vegetation may occur.

The invention also relates to crop protection agents and to a method for combating undesired plant growth. The invention relates to a novel composition for improving the efficacy of herbicides, to the use of said composition for improving the efficacy of herbicides, to a herbicide product containing said composition and at least one herbicide, and to the use of said herbicide product for controlling unwanted plant growth. The composition contains (a) at least one C1-C4 alkyl ester of at least one aliphatic C14-C22 carboxylic acid, 70 wt. % of the at least one carboxylic acid consisting of aliphatic carboxylic acids with 18 carbon atoms; (b) at least one non-ionic surfactant selected from the esterification products of monohydroxy-functional polyalkyl ethers with non-organic polybasic acids; (c) at least one aliphatic C14 -C22 carboxylic acid; (d) optionally at least one defoaming agent; and (e) at least one aromatic solvent.
