Abstract:
The present invention relates to an article or layer made of a composite material comprising a plastic material reinforced with fibers, said article or layer comprising at least one segment of a predominantly two-dimensional structure with a first and a second surface and a basis thickness of the segment and at least one of the surfaces of the segment shows a surface profile with dents or knobs or dents and knobs, wherein the surface with the surface profile has a continuous basis surface, in which the dents are impressed or of which the knobs stick out, and the basis thickness of the segment is the distance between the basis surface of the surface with the surface profile and the other surface, if only one surface has a surface profile, or the basis thickness of the segment is the distance between both basis surfaces, if both surfaces have a surface profile, wherein in case of dents the distance between the surface in the area of the dent and the other surface, if only one surface has a surface profile, or the other basis surface is at least 10% less than the basis thickness and in case of knobs the distance between the surface in the area of the knob and the other surface if only one surface has a surface profile, or the other basis surface is at least 10% more and at the most 200% more than the basis thickness; and wherein at least 10% of the surface with the surface profile are knobs or dents. Furthermore, the present invention provides layered composite materials comprising such layers, methods of producing such articles or layers and the use of the articles or layered composite materials as as component or part of a component produced by or for the automotive industry or as component or part of a component of a household appliance.
Abstract:
A solvent-free multilayer laminated material comprises a lower substrate layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer or a mixture of thermoplastic polymers, an intermediate layer arranged thereon and comprising a flexible material, a further fibrous intermediate layer comprising plastic, which is provided with an adhesive material and an upper layer comprising metal, comprising plastic or comprising wood or wood-like materials. It does surprisingly not show any deformation even under exposure to temperatures of about 80 o C over a period of up to 40 days and can be used for the production of articles of furniture, floor coverings, wall panels or shaped articles for the electrical, construction or automotive industry.
Abstract:
The present disclosure refers to a polymer blend obtained by melt blending a mixture comprising: (A) 60% to 98.8% by weight of a polyolefin; (B) 0.1% to 30% by weight of at least one compatibilizer; (C) 0.05% to 20% by weight of an amino resin; and (D) 0% to 5% by weight of at least one additive, wherein the amounts of (A), (B), (C) and (D) are based on the total weight of (A)+(B)+(C)+(D), the total weight being 100%, to a film or sheet comprising the polymer blend and to the use of the film or sheet to form a bonding film for composite articles.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a modular-design drum composed of a plurality of geometrically differently or equally shaped individual components, which are first fabricated as separate parts from a thermoplastic polymer and thereafter the components are assembled to the drum, wherein at least one of the components is at least partly laminated with an intermediate layer and a decorative layer, with an intermediate layer and a heat-cured outer layer or with an intermediate layer, a decorative layer and a heat-cured outer layer and to processes for the production of the modular-design drum, and to its use as inner part of tumbler dryers, washing machines, or spin-dryers.
Abstract:
A multilayer laminated material which comprises at least one layer of glass and which has improved thermal stability is distinguished in that it comprises a lower substrate layer of a plastic, a metal or a combination of plastic and metal, an intermediate layer arranged thereon and comprising a soft material or comprising a thermoplastic, a further fibrous intermediate layer comprising plastic, which is provided with a solvent-free adhesive material, and a top layer of glass. The multilayer laminated material is suitable for the installation of glass elements in the area of the electrical, the electronics and the automotive industry and for other industrial applications.

Abstract:
A housing suitable to comprise multiple electrical power cells in electrically driven motor vehicles comprises at least one lower receiving part and one upper covering part. Both parts fit together and create inside a hollow space. Both parts are prepared from a multilayered material comprising at least one support layer of thermoplastic polymer and at least one cover layer of metal adhering to each other. Such housing is perfectly suitable to protect the power cells inside against mechanical damage and against the influence of fire and/or electromagnetic radiation.
