Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collecting bag facilitating the operability and production conditions, being used despite of the types of closure devices and improving the both of the amenity and freedom. SOLUTION: This collecting bag is provided with a bag member 1 formed by two film blanks 2 with joined edges, and a discharge portion 6 having a discharge opening. The closure device 7 at the discharge portion 6 changes a state of the bag from a discharge state, in which the bag is open, to a position of use, in which the bag is closed. The closure device is accommodated in an accommodating means 8 in the position of use of the bag. The accommodating means 8 has at least one open receptacle formed in the bag member 1 and a basis portion 9, in which the film blanks 2 are undetachably connected to each other. The accommodating means may further include a retaining element in the form of a strip 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT

SOLUTION: The pressure sensitive adhesive composition suitable for medical purposes includes a rubbery elastomeric base and one or more water soluble or water swellable hydrocolloids, the adhesive composition containing a substantially homogeneous mixture of 25-60% of one or more polybutenes, 3-35% of one or more styrene copolymers, and 20-60% of one or more hydrocolloids. The ostomy appliances uses the adhesive. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive construction useful for applying a medical equipment e.g. an ostomy device to a skin of a patient.SOLUTION: The layered adhesive construction comprises a support layer and first and second layers of hydrocolloid adhesives. The first and second layers of the hydrocolloid adhesive have different compositions while the second layer of the hydrocolloid adhesive is at least partly interposed between the first layer of the hydrocolloid and the support layer. The first and second adhesive layers consist of a continuous phase and a discontinuous phase. Further, the discontinuous phase of the first adhesive layer contains the hydrocolloid which provides a higher moisture absorption capacity and higher initial rate of absorption than the hydrocolloid in the discontinuous phase of the second adhesive layer does, while the discontinuous phase of the second layer of the adhesive contains the hydrocolloid which provides a higher cohesion compared to the hydrocolloid in the discontinuous phase of the first adhesive layer.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ostomy appliance, a body side member of an ostomy appliance, an ostomy sealing member, and a method to apply a body side member of an ostomy appliance to around a stoma. SOLUTION: The ostomy appliance includes a body side member 1 comprising an adhesive wafer or pad for securing the appliance to the user's skin, and the adhesive is covered by a film 9. The body side member is fixed to a flange 11 made of a foam material via a sealing 10. A receiving member or bag 14 is fixed to the flange 11 sealing by a layer of the adhesive 13 and the flange 12 is welded to the receiving member 14 either on the inside or the outside of the member. The flange 11 is protruded from the inner rim of the pad or wafer 2 to prevent a moldable adhesive block 7 of an independent sealing member from adhering to the wafer or pad. The independent sealing member comprises a sheet 16 for adhesion of the receiving member or bag capable of adhering to and exchanging the flange of the body side member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
Abstract:
In an ostomy appliance comprising an adhesive, flexible, skin barrier product for securing the appliance to the user's skin, said skin barrier having a hole for receiving a stoma, ureter or catheter, and said skin barrier comprising, in the surface to be secured to the user's skin, at least a first zone showing adhesive and barrier properties and a second zone showing moisture absorbing properties wherein the first zone comprises a substantially homogeneous mixture of from 15 to 95 % by weight of one or more rubbery components and from 2 to 85 % by weight of a starch, and furthermore may comprise from 0 to 60 % by weight of one or more hydrocolloids, from 0 to 50 % by weight of one or more tackifier resins, from 0 to 10 % by weight of one or more plasticizers and from 0 to 5 % by weight of a pigment, the barrier adhesive "behaves", in a dry state, rheologically as an adhesive comprising hydrocolloid but which does not absorb moisture in the presence of moisture. Thus, itching when the adhesive is placed on the skin and a light reddening after removal is avoided.
Abstract:
A pressure sensitive adhesive composition suitable for medical purposes comprising a rubbery elastomeric base and two or more water soluble or water swellable hydrocolloids, said adhesive composition comprising a substantially homogeneous mixture of 15-60 % of one or more rubbery components, 10-60 % of a mixture of hydrocolloids comprising one or more hydrocolloids selected from the group of amidated pectins and potato starch, 0-50 % of one or more tackifier resins, 0-15 % cohesive strengthening agent, 0-10 % of a plasticizer and 0-5 % pigment, shows at least as good properties with respect to resistance to biological fluids as well as adhesion to the skin and coherence as state of the art adhesives comprising gelatine.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a kit comprising at least one base plate for adhesive attachment to the skin around at least one body opening. The kit further comprises at least one separate peripheral device for attachment to the base plate. The base plate comprises a backing layer, having a proximal side facing the user during use, where a skin friendly adhesive is disposed on said proximal side of the backing layer and wherein the base plate is an intact base plate thereby allowing a hole to be cut at a desired position before use. The separate peripheral device comprises a continuous adhesive ring for permanent adhesive attachment between the continuous adhesive ring of the peripheral device and the distal side of the backing layer of the base plate. This allows the user to provide a custom fit for irregular body openings.
