PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for rapidly manufacturing a three-dimensional object having a high green strength at a low cost. SOLUTION: The solid freeform fabrication method of the three-dimensional metallic object comprises a step wherein a particle mixture containing metal or metal alloy particles and a peroxide is deposited in a limited area and a step wherein a binder system is selectively ink-jet printed onto a prescribed area in the particle mixture for forming a non-processed part. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet solid free form fabrication system which can improve both of mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy of an object. SOLUTION: A nano-filler selected from the group consisting of an inorganic nano-particle, an organic-inorganic hybrid nano-composite, a curable liquid crystal and a combination of them, is dispersed into a structural material. The above structural material is heated and liquefied, and is injected from an inkjet mechanism to deposit as a desired two-dimensional structure. Then, its curing by a UV illuminant irradiation or the like and the injection from the inkjet mechanism of the structural material are repeated and the object of a desired three-dimensional free form can be obtained. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer that can detect a decrease in the quantity of a liquid in a printing fluid tank separately from bubbles in the liquid. SOLUTION: The printer 10 has a printing fluid tank 26, a print head assembly 12 structured so as to transfer a printing fluid to a printing medium, a conduit 28 passing a liquid through the printing fluid tank 26 and the print head assembly 12, and a printing fluid detector 30 having a first electrode 32 and a second electrode 34 structured so as to detect the impedance characteristics of the printing fluid. The printing fluid detector 30 acquires set impedance values of both ends of the first electrode 32 and the second electrode 34 and discriminates the printing fluid from the bubbles of the printing fluid by comparing the impedance measurement with the impedance values as the threshold value of bubbles calibrated to the measured temperature of the printing fluid.
