PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of easily extracting the same or a similar subject when subjects are photographed by a plurality of apparatuses with different viewpoints.SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus comprises: an image pickup unit photographing a subject; a movement detecting unit detecting changes in movement of the subject photographed by the image pickup unit; a data generating unit generating first timing data relating to change timing at which the movement detecting unit detected a change in the movement; a receiving unit receiving second timing data, which relates to change timing when movement of a subject photographed by another apparatus was detected, from the other apparatus during photographing by the image pickup unit; and a determining unit determining, based on the first timing data generated by the data generating unit and the second timing data received by the receiving unit, whether the subject photographed by the image pickup unit and the subject photographed by the other apparatus are the same or a similar subject.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device for allowing one-hand input operation while holding equipment in one hand. SOLUTION: An image acquisition part 105 of a cellular telephone 10 obtains an image of a finger by bringing the finger closer to a display 13 formed by elements including an imaging element and an image element without touching the display or bringing the finger into touch with the display. A computing part 120 obtains a center-of-gravity position of the finger, based on the image of the finger obtained by the image acquisition part 105. An information generating part 125 obtains a touch area between the finger and the screen on the basis of the image of the finger which generates information for operating the cellular phone 10 based on displacement of the center-of-gravity position of the finger in accordance with the finger's movement. A determination part 115 determines whether or not the finger has touched the screen based on the obtained touch area. A display part 130 displays a virtual sign 14 indicating a reference point when the finger touches a position first determined by the determination part 115 that the finger has touched the screen. SOLUTION: A state transition diagram generation part 14 generates a state transition diagram according to state transition information comprising state data. A display part 18 displays the generated state transition diagram. An operation part 11 operates the displayed state transition diagram. In response to operations by the operation part 11, a state transition engine 15 executes a state transition program stored in a state data storage part 13 to update the state transition information. An event detection part 19 accepts events. An event storage part 23 stores the accepted events as an event list 23a. An event editing part 20 edits the event list 23a stored in the event storage part 23. The technique is applicable to a software program to develop state transition programs. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for enabling a user to intuitively perform the individual operations of the rotation, movement, enlargement and reduction of a three-dimensional object by using a touch type input device. SOLUTION: When user-designated coordinates on a picture are detected by a touch type input device 7, a touch input conversion program decides the rotation axis, rotation direction and rotation speed of a three-dimensional object 40 on the basis of the user-designated coordinates, and notifies them to a three-dimensional plotting program. The three-dimensional plotting program executes the rotation operation of the three-dimensional object 40 on the basis of the notified information. While the user is keeping designation of the coordinates with the touch operation, the calculation of the rotation axis, rotation direction and rotation speed is repeated in a fixed cycle by the touch input conversion program, and the calculation results are given to a three-dimensional plotting program each time. Therefore, when the user changes the instructed position while touching the picture, the calculation results of the rotation axis, rotation direction and rotation speed are changed each time so that the behavior of the rotation of the three-dimensional object is dynamically changed.
