Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5 th -Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4 th -Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A method for performing communication using an unlicensed band by a base station comprising a WLAN module and a mobile communication module in a mobile communication system including a terminal and the base station.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling Discontinuous Reception (DRX) by a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system is provided. The UE receives a DRX configuration parameter from an evolved Node B (eNB), and determines whether to start an on-duration timer based on the DRX configuration parameter, after a change in DRX cycle is completed in a subframe, thereby preventing system performance degradation caused by transmission mismatch between the eNB and the UE.
Abstract:
A method and UE apparatus are provided for adjusting an uplink data rate by a User Equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system. The method includes determining if a current state of a buffer is an empty state or a non-empty state; when the current buffer state is the non-empty state, comparing a ratio of a total of transmission data currently stored in the buffer to a total of Transport Formats (TFs) allocated during a predetermined number n of subframes, with a predetermined threshold; setting indication information indicating satisfaction/non-satisfaction ('happy bit(s)')of an uplink data rate according to the comparison result; and transmitting the set indication information to a Node B. The UE apparatus comprises a multiplexing/demultiplexing device, a HARQ processor, a controller to set information indicating satisfaction/non-satisfaction in accordance with pre-set rules, an exemplary set of which is also provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method of measurement on a home cell/ private network cell, by a user equipment (UE), in a mobile communication system, the method including the steps of: transmitting a request message requesting the measurement to a network node, the request message including an indicator instructing at least one of register, join, and use of the home cell/ private network cell; receiving a response message corresponding to the request message from the network node, the response message including context information for measurement control of at least one home cell/ private network cell accessible by the UE; and selectively executing measurement on the accessible home cell/ private network cell by using the context information.
Abstract:
An Automatic Repeat reQuest (ARQ) method in a communication system having a protocol layer structure, includes determining whether there is a possibility that upper layer data contained in a packet data unit to be transmitted along with the polling information will cause an upper layer message in the opposite direction; and when there is a possibility that the upper layer data will cause an upper layer message, generating polling information ordering a receiver to wait for a predetermined time after receipt of a packet and to transmit an upper layer packet generated for the waiting time along with a status report, including the polling information in the packet data unit, and delivering the packet data unit to the lower layer.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for processing control information included in a data unit in a mobile communication system are provided. A receiver processes control information of a first type immediately irrespective of reordering of a received data unit, when the received data unit comprises the control information of the first type. The receiver processes control information of a second type after reordering of the received data unit, when the received data unit comprises the control information of the second type.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for reordering received packets in a mobile telecommunication system supporting HARQ so that the problem of order change is solved. The method includes receiving from a receiving-side HARQ entity an input of a packet and processing time spent by the packet going through an HARQ operation; determining if a gap corresponding to at least one missing packet among received packets is detected based on the input packet belonging to the received packets and, when the gap is detected, waiting for the missing packet belonging to the gap to be received for a period of time obtained by subtracting the processing time from a predetermined maximum waiting value; and outputting the received packets to an upper layer in an order when the missing packet belonging to the gap fails to be received before the expiration of the period of time.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving CQI in a wireless communication system are provided, in which when a UE transitions from a continuous reception state to a DRX state, CQI report resources are reallocated to the UE according to a CQI report resource reallocation rule agreed between the UE and an E-RAN, which obviates the need for signaling information about allocated new CQI report resources.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus are provided for performing ARQ in a mobile communication system including an ARQ layer and a HARQ layer. The method includes receiving from an ARQ Rx entity a status report indicating a reception status of ARQ packets; detecting an ARQ packet having a transmission completion time going ahead of a generation time of the status report, among the ARQ packets whose transmission was completed by an ARQ Tx entity; and retransmitting an ARQ packet not ACK/NACK-ed by the status report, among the detected ARQ packets.
Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a mobile communication system, and in particular, to a method and apparatus for transmitting a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message by a User Equipment (UE) in an idle mode (hereinafter referred to as an "idle mode UE") in an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) system. Therefore, the UE transmits one combined message of an AS control message and a NAS control message including information indicating transmission of a SIP message, thereby having an effect on an upper node to reduce a delay due to message processing.
