A method for selecting an item displayed on a display screen is provided. The method includes displaying a pointer on the screen, receiving an input of user manipulation to move the pointer displayed on the screen, and if the pointer moves closer to the item and if the pointer is placed without overlapping at least a part of the item, displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) indicating that it is possible to select the item with the pointer.

The display apparatus includes: an image processor configured to process an image signal; a display; and a processor configured to control the image processor to produce, from a 360-degree image, a plurality of split images to be arranged along a great circle of a sphere shape, based on a first viewpoint that corresponds to a first user input, to produce a first projection image to be displayed on the display from a first split image from among the plurality of split images, and to control the display to display the first projection image, wherein the plurality of split images corresponds to a plurality of screens, and the first split image corresponds to a first screen from among the plurality of screens that corresponds to the display apparatus.

An electronic apparatus and a method of controlling the electronic apparatus are provided. The electronic apparatus includes a display configured to display an image, and a controller electrically connected to the display. The controller is configured to control the display to display a region of the image, using a first reproducing method, identify either one or both of a first event in which a control signal is externally received and a second event occurring based on a result of analyzing a feature of the region of the image, and change the first reproducing method to a second reproducing method, based on either one or both of the first event and the second event being identified.

A display apparatus including a display configured to display a pointing object, a communicator configured to perform communication with a remote control device which recognizes a movement and transmits a signal corresponding to the recognized movement, and a processor configured to control a moving state of the pointing object based on the signal received from the remote control device. The processor controls the moving state of the pointing object according to a relative coordinate method for a first area where a screen of the display is included, and controls the moving state of the pointing object according to an absolute coordinate method for a second area outside the first area.

The display apparatus includes: a display configured to display a virtual keyboard; an inputter configured to receive a stroke input on a key on the virtual keyboard; and a controller configured to display a character which corresponds to the key in an input window in response to the stroke input being received, and configured to perform a control operation to suggest at least one character that is likely to follow a character which corresponds to the key and display the at least one suggested character. The at least one suggested character is displayed so as not to overlap a character of a basic key on the virtual keyboard.

An image display apparatus and method of displaying a 360-degree image are provided. The image display apparatus includes a display and a processor configured to receive a user input to move a view point of the 360-degree image, to obtain information indicating a recommended view point from a search region corresponding to the user input based on a composition detection parameter set corresponding to a category of the 360-degree image or a user-preferred composition, move the 360-degree image from a current view point to the recommended view point in response to the user input, and to control the display to display a region corresponding to the recommended view point in the 360-degree image.
