Abstract:
An aqueous CO2 absorbent comprising a combination of 2-amino-2-methyl-1 - propanol (AMP) and 3-aminopropanol (AP), or AMP and 4-aminobutanol (AB), is described. A method for capturing CO2 from a CO2 containing gas using the mentioned absorbent, and the use of a combination of AMP and AP, or a combination of AMP and AB are also described.
Abstract:
The present application concerns a substantially prismatic tank having internal tension beams having a cross section with a web and orthogonal flanges along the edges of the web, the beams being arranged in alternate orthogonal layers and being connected to each other at least some crossing points, wherein the beams are arranged with their flanges oriented vertically and their webs oriented horizontally.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a substantially prismatic tank (1) for the transportation and storage of fluids comprising a bottom and a first (10) and second pair of opposite side walls, both pair of walls joined to said bottom, wherein the first pair of side walls are inclined with an obtuse angle with respect to the bottom, said first pair of side walls having a height of more than half the total height of the tank, and the second pair of side walls have a substantially straight angle with respect to the bottom.
Abstract:
A system for high power transmission on an installation comprising a first part (1, 11) and a second part (2, 12) rotating relative to each other characterized in that the system further comprising a rotary three-phase transformer having primary (U1, V1, W1) and secondary (U2, V2, W2) windings, the first part being provided with one of said primary (U1, V1, W1) or secondary (U2, V2, W2) windings, the second part being provided with the remaining winding of said primary (U1, V1, W1) or secondary (U2, V2, W2) windings, said primary (U1, V1, W1) and secondary (U2, V2, W2) windings are arranged to face each other, and an air gap (6) is provided between the primary (U1, V1, W1) and secondary (U2, V2, W2) windings and their corresponding parts of the transformer cores.
Abstract:
A method for providing a drainage from a space between a lined concrete wall and a lining for protecting the lined concrete wall, wherein the method comprisesg the steps of arranging one or more draining member(s) each comprising a draining pipe having a blind flange arranged at both ends and having a length including the blind flanges that is substantially equal to the wall thickness in a casting frame so that the blind flanges are resting at the casting frame at the inside of the wall and the outside of the wall, respectively; filling concrete filled into the casting frame to cover the draining member(s) and allowing the concrete is allowed to cure; removing the casting frame from at least one of the sides of the concrete wall and; drilling through the blind flanges to open the draining member(s). A drained concrete wall and a concrete vessel are also described.
Abstract:
A guiding assembly for a riser piping system (2) in an opening in the bottom (8) of a floating structure, said assembly permitting limited axial and angular displacement of the riser piping system (2) in said opening. The assembly comprises a prismatic anchor (1) surrounding a portion of the riser piping system (2) and being connected thereto, an outer prismatic guide tube (4) receiving the prismatic anchor (1), the outer prismatic guide tube (4) having inner surfaces that are parallel to and equally spaced from outer surfaces on the prismatic anchor (1), and rollers (3) arranged in at least two different levels and confined in spaces (2) formed between said inner and outer surfaces, the rollers (3) permitting relative axial movement between the prismatic anchor (1) and the outer prismatic tube (4).
Abstract:
A lifeboat protection apparatus (14) comprises enclosure members (4a-f) that at least partially enclose a lifeboat and lifeboat support devices (2, 3) and forming at least one opening (15) through which the lifeboat may pass. A covering element (6) is arranged to controllably and selectively close and open at least one of the openings (15) and comprises at least one weak region that is configured to be the first region of failure for the cover element. The lifeboat may be launched even when the covering is in a closed position, as the lifeboat's impact load onto the covering will entail a rupturing of the covering.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a prismatic tank for storing fluid under pressure, the tank comprises external plates, forming at least part of a roof, wall or floor, and where at least part of the external plate comprises a sandwich structure and comprising an internal structure formed as a tension support and/or anchoring for the external plates. Said tank has tension stays in three perpendicular directions which allow internal pressure to be confined.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of repairing welds in aluminium sandwich panels (1) comprising the steps of: making the root bead (2) of the weld (3) to be repaired by tungsten inert gas welding (TIG); and making up the remainder of the weld by metal inert gas welding (MIG).
Abstract:
The present invention provides an assembly of orthogonal tension beams (4) in alternate horizontal layers for use in a tank, wherein at least some of the intersection points between the orthogonal tension beams are interconnected by vertical spacer elements (5) with bending stiffness and torsional flexibility as well as spacer elements suitable for said assembly.
