Abstract: Compositions are provided including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic nitrogen-containing matrix material and composite particles distributed in the matrix material. The composite particles each include a chemical blowing agent particle encapsulated within a shell including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic material. The uncrosslinked thermoplastic material exhibits at least a certain minimum complex viscosity at a decomposition temperature of the chemical blowing agent particle. Also described are foam compositions and articles including the foam compositions, such as a sheet or multilayer construction. Composite particles are further provided. Methods of making the foam compositions are additionally described herein. Also, polishing pads, polishing systems, and methods of polishing a substrate are provided.

Abstract: A coated insulation product with a reduced fluorinated blowing agent concentration, while maintaining acceptable thermal properties (e.g., a 180-day R/in value of at least 4.8), is disclosed. The coated insulation product includes a foam product formed from a foamable composition comprising: a matrix composition; and a blowing agent composition comprising less than 3.5 wt. % of a fluorinated alkene, based on a total weight of the foamable composition. The foam product is coated with 3 g/m2 and 225 g/m2 of a barrier coating composition on at least one surface. The barrier coating composition includes: 40 wt. % to 99.9 wt. % of a barrier polymer having a minimum degree of crystallinity of 10%; and 0.01 wt. % to 60 wt. % of at least one additive.

Abstract: A polyvinyl chloride polymer (PVC) composite material is described herein. The PVC composite material includes 40-60 parts by weight of PVC, 40-60 parts by weight of calcium carbonate, 0.2-0.6 parts by weight of composite foaming agent, 3-5 parts by weight of foam regulator, 2-4 parts by weight of toughener, 0.8-1.2 parts by weight of lubricant, and 2-3 parts by weight of stabilizer. Meanwhile, the present invention provides a foam board made of the PVC composite material and flooring. The resulting PVC products have a high-strength structure and a good foaming property, bring the comfort to feet as the resilient flooring does, have a satisfied sound reduction and can be easily installed as the hard flooring could.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a foamed resin molded body that has excellent impact resistance and rigidity and that is hardly fractured even when subjected to high impact, and a method for manufacturing the same. The foamed resin molded body is made of an olefin-based resin composition containing an olefin resin and a polyamide resin, the olefin-based resin composition has a continuous phase containing the olefin resin and a dispersed phase dispersed in the continuous phase and containing the polyamide resin, and the dispersed phase contains a melt-kneaded product of the polyamide resin and an elastomer having a reactive group that reacts with the polyamide resin.

Abstract: A method for producing environmentally friendly, mono-extruded hemp composite board (EHB) is provided. By using hemp fiber and hemp hurd in combination with virgin and/or recycled binders, the system and method may be used to create preferable substitutes for traditional construction boards. The method generally comprises steps of processing hemp hurd/fiber and injecting said hemp hurd/fiber into an extruder along with a binder. Waste products from other production streams may be added as well to reduce waste/cost of said production streams. The resulting EHB is structurally superior to traditional construction boards largely due to the structural characteristics of dispersed hemp hurd and hemp fiber, their complete encapsulation in a binder material, and their lower hygroscopic properties. Additionally, since the EHB is created using an extruder, a downstream extrusion arrangement may be used to mold the EHB into shapes that are difficult to achieve with traditional construction boards.

Another aspect relates to a polyolefin-based foam sheet constituted of a 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer, in which the difference in Shore A hardness of at least one surface at different times is defined. A further aspect relates to a complex including a foam body constituted of a 4-methyl-1-pentene-based polymer and a member which is bonded to the foam body and is different from the foam body.
