    Abstract: An electrical connector includes: a contact module including a housing and an upper and lower rows of contacts arranged in the housing, the housing having a base and a front tongue; a metallic shell enclosing the housing; and a metallic bracket affixed to the metallic shell and having a pair of soldering legs; wherein the base has a front face and plural recesses behind the front face, each recess having an interior face; and the metallic shell has plural stops accommodated in corresponding recesses, each stop having a front face positioned in front of the front face of the base and a rear face spaced a gap from the interior face of a corresponding recess.

    Abstract: An electrical connector includes an insulative housing with a plurality of contacts retained therein in matrix wherein all the contacts are of the cantilevered spring arm type for connecting to the conductive pads of the CPU while categorized with at least two different types for performing different functions, i.e., signal transmission or power delivery. The different type may be related to the corresponding dimension/thickness, the configuration/position, the material, and the processing method which alters the mechanical or electrical characters of the contacts, etc. The different type contacts having the contact points initially at different heights while eventually at the same height, is another feature of the invention.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes a longitudinal insulating housing including two long walls and a bottom wall connecting with the long wall and defining a card slot in a longitudinal direction among the long walls and the bottom wall, two rows of contact arranged in the long walls respectively. Each contact includes a retaining portion, a spring portion extending from the retaining portion and leg portion extending from the retaining portion and out of the insulating housing. The spring portions define contacting portions projecting into the card slot. Each contact is formed by directly punching out from a metal plate, the retaining portions define an outer edge and inner edge interfered with the insulating housing and two opposite plane faces connecting with the outer and inner edge and disposed perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.

    Abstract: A receptacle connector includes an insulative receptacle housing, two rows of receptacle contacts retained to the receptacle housing, a one-piece metallic shell member retained to the receptacle housing and having a circumferential structure continuously surrounding the receptacle housing wherein a shielding/grounding member unitarily extends from the shell member and into an center island of the receptacle housing to separate the two rows of contacts in the transverse direction. A plug connector includes an insulative plug housing, two rows of plug contacts, and a pair of grounding blocks at two ends. During mating, two opposite ends of the shielding/grounding member mechanically and electrically connect to the pair of metallic grounding blocks or locking members, respectively.

    Abstract: A card edge connector includes an insulative housing defining a card receiving slot extending along a longitudinal direction, a plurality of terminals retained in the housing and by two sides of the card receiving slot in a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and a metallic guiding member retained to the housing at the end of the card receiving slot. The metallic guiding member includes a main body extending in a vertical direction perpendicular to both the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction, and a curved resilient guiding section upwardly extending from a top end of the main body. The housing forms a constraining wall at the end with a step structure so as to allow the guiding section of the guiding member to be freely support upon the step structure to function as a constrained beam during confrontation with the inserted card module.
