    Abstract: A degradation diagnosis method for simply performing degradation diagnosis of a gas sensor such as a hydrogen sensor. The hydrogen sensor has a reference detector member and common detector member, with each detector member respectively constituted of a detector element and temperature compensating element that form a pair. Power is normally supplied to the common detector member, which performs concentration detection of the hydrogen gas. When performing degradation diagnosis of this common detector member, concentration detection is performed simultaneously by each detector member for the gas of the prescribed hydrogen concentration by supplying power to both the common detector member and reference detector member and comparing the output value of the common detector member and the output value of the reference detector member.

In the vehicle control system, an electric control device is formed comprising a cooperative control ECU which acts as a server apparatus and a plurality of subsystems which are connected to this cooperative control ECU and act as client apparatuses. The plurality of subsystems comprise, for example, a motor control ECU, a reactive gas supply control ECU, an electrical power distribution control ECU, and a cell voltage detection control ECU. Each of the ECUs which forms each of the subsystems carries out I/O processing for the control signals that are sent to and received from the cooperative control ECU and shut down processing and protective processing during abnormal operation such as a network stoppage.     Abstract: A system for discriminating engine-starting of a hybrid vehicle having an internal combustion engine and a generator-motor connected to the engine to rotate the engine to start and to be rotated to generate electric power after the engine is started.
