Abstract:
A system utilizing a low power level of pulsed alternating current for assisting a patient in producing an improved physiological or psychological condition within his body, wherein one improvement in one embodiment lies in a compact portable pulse train generating unit of "pocket-size," and another improvement of another embodiment lies in the combination of an electrotherapy treating unit with a bio-feedback detecting and displaying unit, wherein the patient may visually observe his improving condition during treatment.
Abstract:
A tool for inserting either single loose pins or a plurality of pins or posts carried upon a mounting strip into holes of a substrate, such as a printed circuit board, in a continuous process and including a push blade and a carrier control blade for receiving the pins and the mounting strip which are carried upon a mounting frame. A plurality of ribs protrude upwardly from the push blade, forming grooves therebetween into which the pins to be aligned for insertion are positioned. A slideable, securing blade, carried upon the mounting frame, is moveable from a position away from the pins to a position engaging the pins to secure them in their aligned positions. A locking mechanism on the securing blade cooperates with the mounting frame to lock the securing blade in the engaging position. Upon insertion of the pins into the holes of the printed circuit board and the exertion of a pressure upon the securing blade, the locking mechanism releases, and a spring moves the securing blade back to its original position away from the pins, thereby enabling the mounting frame to be pushed further forward to cause the pins to be completely inserted into the holes of the printed circuit board.
Abstract:
A system for remotely reading, storing and transmitting the current reading of a plurality of utility meters to a central computer. Each remote location using a utility is fitted with a transponder which is connected to the various utility meters. The transponders are capable of receiving pulses from sending units in the utility meters and storing these pulses. The computer can connect itself with a particular transponder by sending an interrogation code decodable only by that transponder. If the correct interrogation code is received twice within a predetermined time period the transponder is activated and transmits its stored information to the computer.
Abstract:
The invention is a system and method for time and frequency-restricted cryptocurrency transactions that use blockchain-based systems, tokens, coins, and exchanges to reduce energy consumption and increase energy efficiency. The system imposes time and frequency-specific restrictions on transactions to reduce temperature yield and lower the carbon footprint, which contributes to climate change. Transactions within the designated “open or free trade” period may incur zero or reduced fees, and any transactions outside of the transactors' designated time or frequency limits may result in higher fees, which a portion results in carbon credit offsets. The invention also includes an “ejection button” that allows transactors to buy or sell outside of their designated time or frequency limits without higher fees, with a percentage of the proceeds resulting in carbon credit offsets. The invention provides a more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly alternative to existing cryptocurrency systems.
Abstract:
A system of fluid sterilization of fluid of vessel is provided, such as sterilization of ballast water for a water vessel. The system incorporates a heating section to heat pressurized fluid above prescribed thresholds for temperature, pressure, and duration (e.g., dwell time) to achieve desired levels of sterilization, including a heat exchanger to both (a) preheat fluid prior to entering the heating section and (b) cool outflow of the heating apparatus, in which fluid travels through the apparatus by operating valves forward and aft of the heating section in a controlled sequence to facilitate flow through the system while maintaining prescribed pressure and temperature profiles. The system operates within prescribed ranges of pressure and temperature to achieve the desired level of sterilization without need of maintaining a fixed temperature or a fixed pressure within any portion of the system, including the heating section.
Abstract:
A wind chime assembly with traditional chiming functions actuated by outside wind currents knocking a striker into an array of metal pipes but additionally incorporating bubble making acquisition through a coupling of a bubble making apparatus with integrated wind vanes joined to a plurality of bubble producing apertures rotatablely dipped into a supply of contained bubble solution to simultaneously manifest a flotilla of entrancing bubbles drifting airily about to the soothing tones of the wind chimes actuated by the same outside wind currents. Disengagement of the primary components also allow for each be operated separately.
Abstract:
A bag dispenser includes a frame with a roller portion for receiving a bag roll defined by a plurality of bags attached to a leading bag to be dispensed, the roller defining a longitudinal axis. A brake plate is configured to capture the leading bag against the frame for providing frictional force on the leading bag to limit sliding thereof, the brake plate pivotally attached to the frame via a pivot arm, the brake plate pivotable with respect to the frame between a non-pivoted friction-application position and a pivoted bag roll-installment position, the pivot arm configured to pivot with respect to the frame along a pivot plane generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

Abstract:
A method for performing a division operation in a system includes a) determining an approximate quotient of a numerator value and a denominator value; b) determining an initial error of the approximate quotient; c) determining a quotient adjustment value based on the initial error; d) determining whether to apply the quotient adjustment value to the approximate quotient; e) if the determination at d) is YES, then applying the quotient adjustment value to the approximate quotient; f) determining an iterative error of the approximate quotient; g) updating the quotient adjustment value based on the iterative error; h) repeating acts d) through g) until the determination at d) is NO, thereby determining a final value for the approximate quotient; i) generating an integer quotient based on the final value of the approximate quotient; and j) using the integer quotient with regard to at least one aspect of the system.
Abstract:
An integrated circuit including a logic analyzer with enhanced analyzing and debugging capabilities and a method therefor. In one embodiment, an integrated circuit includes a logic analyzer having a first input receiving a plurality of signals and an output for providing an indication of a detection, by the logic analyzer, of at least one trigger event; and a built in self test block having a first input for receiving one or more of the signals appearing at the first input of the logic analyzer, a second input coupled to the output of the logic analyzer for selectively enabling the BIST block, the BIST block generating and maintaining a signature based upon the first and second inputs thereof.
