Abstract: A system and method for treating target tissue including a light source for generating a beam of light, a plurality of optical fibers, a deflection device configured to selectively deflect the light beam into the input ends of the optical fibers, one optical fiber input end at a time, and a probe having a tip with the output ends of the optical fibers and configured for insertion into target tissue. The probe tip is configured to sequentially project spaced apart spots of the light beam from the output ends as the deflection device deflects the light beam into the optical fibers. One or more moving or static deflecting optics at the probe tip can be used to statically or dynamically deflect the beam exiting the optical fibers.

Abstract: A microwave-rectifying circuit for rectifying AC power is equipped with: an input line into which AC power is inputted; multiple branch lines which branch off from the branching point on the output side of the input line into n lines; rectifiers which rectify the AC power flowing through the branch lines and are positioned in each of the multiple branch lines; and phase shift units which are provided upstream from the rectifier in at least n−1 branch lines among the multiple branch lines, and shift the phase of the AC power in a manner such that relative to the AC power which flows through one branch line and arrives at the corresponding rectifier, the AC power which flows through each of the other n−1 branch lines and arrives at the corresponding rectifier exhibits a phase difference of k×180/n°.

Abstract: A method for adjusting an optical cavity's length includes: measuring a first absolute frequency corresponding to a cavity mode, the optical cavity having a first and second mirror having respective first and second mirror surfaces separated by a first cavity length, and a resonator body interposed therebetween; determining a length difference between the first cavity length and a target cavity length corresponding to a plurality of resonance frequencies that includes a target absolute optical frequency; removing the first mirror to expose a first end of the resonator body; depositing, on one of the first end and the first mirror, a spacer having a thickness within a length tolerance of the determined length difference; and reversibly securing the first mirror to the resonator body, the spacer being between the first mirror and the resonator body, the first and second mirrors being separated, within the length tolerance, by an adjusted cavity length.

Abstract: A heel-toe actuated bass drum pedal system includes a pedal having a heel hinge point at a rear portion and an opposing toe hinge point at a front portion. A heel transfer arm is connected between the heel hinge point and the base. A heel rocker pivot is connected to the base and a heel linkage connected between the heel transfer arm and the heel rocker pivot such that movement of the heel linkage provides rotational movement to the heel rocker pivot which may carry a drum beater. A toe rocker pivot is connected to the base and a toe linkage connected between the toe rocker pivot and the toe hinge point for providing the rotational movement to the toe rocker pivot which may include a second drum beater. A return spring biases the rocker pivots toward a preselected rotation.

Abstract: Systems and methods for ablating or processing a surface using a laser beam are provided. A method includes directing a laser beam at a surface to form a contact area. The method also includes moving the contact area to form a contact curve. The method includes tuning a wavelength and a power of the laser beam to process a material and/or ablate a coating. The wavelength and the power may be further tuned to not damage the surface beneath the coating. Moving the contact area may include forming a second contact curve by superimposing, at a same time, the second contact curve on the contact curve. A system includes a laser and a directing arrangement configured to direct a laser beam from the laser at a surface to form a contact area. A non-transitory processor-readable medium having instructions stored thereon is provided.
