Abstract:
Iron sulfate supported on alumina or silica alumina and cobalt sulfate supported on alumina are catalysts used for olefin oligomerization. These new catalysts allow olefin oligomerizations to be carried out at lower temperatures than many other known catalysts. The reaction is normally carried out under sufficient pressure to keep the olefin present as a liquid. In addition, the catalysts provide excellent selectivity for the formation of lower olefins and require no water to maintain activity, thereby leading to increased productivity by avoiding problems of polymerization, coking and reactor plugging.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a games racket, such as a tennis racket which is "double-strung", i.e. the stringing is disposed in two generally parallel planes located on opposite sides of the head frame. The head frame has a generally radially outwardly opening channel which extends around the outer periphery of the head frame. In one embodiment, each of the two side walls of the channel is provided with peripherally outwardly opening slots which are spanned by, and receive and locate, the stringing in the associated one of the parallel planes. The stringing in each plane is composed of a pre-woven mesh of discrete string portions, each pre-knotted adjacent its opposite ends. Each mesh is fitted to its associated side wall by locating one end of each discrete string portion in an associated one of a pair of slots on opposite sides of the opening defined by the head frame, with the knot at that end engaged within the channel to anchor that end. The string portion is then temporarily stretched to enable the knot at its opposite end to pass over the peripherally open end of the other of the pair of slots and engage within the channel while the other end is engaged in the other slot, thereby to anchor the other end. The inter-knot spacing of each string portion is precisely predetermined in relation to the spacing between the associated pair of slots which that string portion spans so as to maintain that string portion at the required tension.

Abstract:
An apparatus for casting metals by a nucleated casting technique to create a preform, the apparatus including a mold having a base and a side wall where the base can be moved relative to the side wall to withdraw the preform as it is being created. In various circumstances, portions of a droplet spray created by an atomizing nozzle, i.e., overspray, may accumulate on a top surface of the side wall and prevent or inhibit the preform from being moved relative to the side wall. The atomizing nozzle can be oriented such that the droplet spray passes over the top of the side wall to remelt and remove at least a portion of the overspray that has accumulated thereon. The mold can be rotated such that the overspray formed on a region of or on the entire perimeter of the top surface can pass through the droplet spray and can be removed from the side wall.
Abstract:
A process for applying a coating on aluminum substrates by anionic or cationic electrodeposition of an electrodeposition coating including an aqueous dispersion of one or more lanthanide series elements having a +3/+4 oxidation state and phosphated epoxy resin made by phosphating a polyepoxide with both phosphoric acid and an organophosphonic acid and/or an organophosphinic acid. The coating has a reduced tendency to form pinholes.
Abstract:
A substrate includes an iron-nickel alloy core or a cobalt-nickel ferrous alloy core, a chromium conversion coating on at least a portion of the core, and an insulating coating on the chromium conversion coating. A method of making a substrate includes: providing an iron-nickel alloy core or a cobalt-nickel ferrous alloy core, applying a chromium conversion coating on at least a portion of the core, and applying an insulating coating on the chromium conversion coating.
Abstract:
A mobile device includes a mobile network module to present media content using a public network and a home network module to present media content from a home network. The mobile device uses the mobile network module to receive a media streaming session via a broadband cellular connection and detects a local wireless connection to a device in a home network. The mobile device uses the home network module to initiate, via the local wireless connection, a home media session with the device in the home network and matches content of the home media session with content of the media streaming session. The mobile device presents, to a user and using the home network module, the matched content of the home media session and disables the media streaming session.

Abstract:
The disclosed embodiments relate to transparent and/or non-disruptive systems and methods for monitoring and analyzing actual space utilization, and in particular, analyzing space utilization over time and/or in real time to accurately understand and report the utilization of the space. In particular, the disclosed embodiments analyze data representative of occupancy of the space, the data being autonomously determined based on the likelihood that occupants are present within the space. The data is periodically determined and automatically reported to an automated collection system which collects the data and forwards it to a central repository for analysis. The data is then analyzed to provide meaningful reports regarding occupancy of the space or otherwise contextualize the utilization of the space. Further, the data collected from different spaces may be anonymized, aggregated, or otherwise combined, and analyzed to contextualize a given space's utilization, provide utilization forecasts, etc.
Abstract:
An apparatus for melting an electrically conductive metallic material includes a vacuum chamber and a hearth disposed in the vacuum chamber. At least one wire-discharge ion plasma electron emitter is disposed in or adjacent the vacuum chamber and is positioned to direct a wide-area field of electrons into the vacuum chamber, wherein the wide-area electron field has sufficient energy to heat the electrically conductive metallic material to its melting temperature. The apparatus may further include at least one of a mold and an atomizing apparatus which is in communication with the vacuum chamber and is positioned to receive molten material from the hearth.
