    Abstract: A process for producing crystalline sodium bicarbonate, comprising: providing an aqueous sodium-bicarbonate containing liquor originating from a reactive crystallization step in which first sodium bicarbonate crystals are produced and recovered; feeding at least a portion of said aqueous sodium-bicarbonate containing liquor to a cooling crystallization unit to form second sodium bicarbonate crystals and produce a crystals slurry comprising the second sodium bicarbonate crystals; and withdrawing a portion of the crystals slurry from the cooling crystallization unit for the withdrawn second sodium bicarbonate crystals to be further processed. A portion of the second sodium bicarbonate crystals withdrawn from the cooling crystallization unit may be fed to a sodium bicarbonate reactive crystallization unit, to a caustic unit, or may be separated and dried. The reactive crystallization, separation and/or drying units where the second sodium bicarbonate crystals are further processed may be the same units where the first sodium bicarbonate crystals are processed.

    Abstract: Gas separation unit for separation of a gas component from a process gas stream, said separation unit comprising a stator and a rotor comprising a plurality of sectors, each sector containing a separation device arranged to separate the gas component from the process gas stream which is led into the separation device and each sector being fluidically connected with at least one valve. The valve is a rotary active valve which comprises a rotor open area which is located at the rotor and a stator open area which is located at the stator. The rotor open area and the stator open area can overlap and can be laterally separated from each other by rotation of the rotor relative to the stator. In this way, the valve can at least partially be opened and closed. The extent of overlap of the rotor open area and the stator open area defines the extent of opening and closing of the valve, respectively. The extent of overlap corresponds to the extent of partial opening of the valve.

    Abstract: Process for treating a combustion waste gas stream containing NOx and contaminants such as heavy metals and/or acid gases, e.g., halogens, SOx, comprising: injecting an alkali sorbent, into the waste gas stream; removing some contaminants with the alkali sorbent from the waste gas stream; injecting an ammonia source into the gas stream; injecting a deNOx catalyst into the gas stream at a temperature of 100° C. to preferably not more than 600° C. to reduce with NH3, in the presence of O2, some NOx to N2 and water in the gas stream, wherein the deNOx catalyst comprises copper and/or copper oxide deposited on a porous support comprising at least 60 wt % of a calcium-deficient hydroxyapatite having a Ca/P of less than 1.67. A blend comprising the alkali sorbent and the deNOx catalyst may be formed to inject them together into the waste gas stream. The ammonia source and the deNOx catalyst are preferably injected simultaneously. Alternatively, the ammonia source may be included in the alkali sorbent and/or the deNOx catalyst.

    Abstract: An autoxidation process for producing hydrogen peroxide may be performed using a plant that includes at least two skid mounted modules selected from: a skid mounted module comprising at least one hydrogenator to hydrogenate an anthraquinone in a working solution; a skid mounted module comprising at least one oxidizer to oxidize the hydrogenated anthraquinone with oxygen to form hydrogen peroxide; optionally a skid mounted module configured to compress air to feed oxygen into the at least one oxidizer of the oxidizer skid, and when said air compressor skid is present, a further skid mounted module configured to recover solvent; a skid mounted module configured to extract the hydrogen peroxide from the working solution; and a skid mounted module comprising at least one means to deliver a hydrogen peroxide solution to a point of use and/or optionally to a storage tank.
