Abstract: Apparatus for welding plastic workpieces together includes a heater block having first and second surfaces; a first heating element for radiating heat from the first surface; and a second heating element for radiating heat from the second surface; wherein the first and second heating elements being separately controlled for temperature. Temperature sensors are provided for detecting temperature of the workpieces at the weld sites. The heating elements preferably are laid out in a non-planar manner such as a parabolic, convex or other curved or angled configuration so as to focus, direct or otherwise concentrate the radiated heat toward the weld site on the workpiece. The invention is particularly suited for welding a part made of a melt processable material such as PFA to a part made of a non-melt processable material such as modified PTFE.

Abstract: A sanitary diaphragm valve is provided that includes a generally dome shaped diaphragm having a central boss that can be connected to or driven by a valve actuator. The diaphragm includes an outer peripheral edge and a relatively thin web portion that connects the boss to the outer edge. In one embodiment, the web portion is arcuate or dome shaped. The thinner web portion permits the diaphragm to have an extended cycle life and to permit the valve to operate at higher fluid pressures. The diaphragm may be made from a chemically resistant material and optimized to maintain high flexure.

Abstract: A valve includes a valve body having first and second fluid ports extending to a valve cavity, a seat carrier subassembly installed in the valve cavity and including a seat carrier body with a first annular inner wall defining a first flow aperture aligned with the first fluid port and a valve seat disposed in an annular recess surrounding the first annular inner wall, and a second annular inner wall defining a second flow aperture aligned with the second fluid port. A valve element is disposed within the valve cavity and is movable between a closed position sealing against the valve seat and an open position permitting fluid flow across the valve seat between the first and second flow apertures. An outer periphery of an orifice restriction is seated against an interior portion of one of the first annular inner wall and the second annular inner wall.

Abstract: An actuator assembly includes a unitary actuator housing, a plurality of pilot valves, and a plurality of actuating members. The actuator housing defines a plurality of actuator cavities and a plurality of internal passages each extending from a corresponding actuation ports on the actuator housing to a corresponding one of the actuator cavities, and an internal pressurization passage extending from a single supply port on the actuator housing to a plurality of branch ports each adjacent a corresponding one of the actuation ports. Abstract: A fitting includes a first and second threaded fitting component and a conduit gripping device receivable within the first threaded fitting component.
