Abstract:
The invention relates to a trailer 10 for towing vehicles having a single front wheel, such as a motorcycle, behind another vehicle. The trailer 10 includes a heavy duty frame 12 having concave shaped wheel carriages which engage the front wheel tire 26 of the vehicle to be towed. The configuration of the trailer 10 permits loading of the vehicle's front tire 26 by rotating the trailer 10 about the trailer wheels axis and rolling the vehicle's front tire into the concave wheel carriage 20. The tire 26 is then secured to the carriage 20 and the trailer 10 is rotated to engage the towing vehicle 32. This rotation lifts the vehicle front tire over and in front of the trailer wheels axle axis thereby suspending the front wheel of the vehicle or vehicles being towed off the ground, while the towed vehicle(s) rear tire remains on the ground.
Abstract:
A hose coupling for use with flexible hose comprises a biconical fitting which is inserted into a hose end and a frusto-conical locking sleeve located about the hose portion which grips the rearward conical section of the fitting. Sealing arrangements for specific embodiments of hose are disclosed. The double included angle of the conical portion of the sleeve and fitting, which engages the hose, is between one degree but less than ten degrees.
Abstract:
A protective sleeve assembly 10 for use in protecting conducting equipment such as cables, wiring and tubing is disclosed as comprising a longitudinal body portion 12 which includes an inner surface 16 and an outer surface 14, a male locking member 18 extending from one longitudinal edge of the longitudinal body portion and a female locking member 32 extending from a second longitudinal edge of the longitudinal body portion. The protective sleeve is selectively closeable by connecting the male and female locking members 18 and 32, respectively. An elastomeric sealing material 52 can be provided between the male and female locking members to assist in providing a fluid resistant seal.
Abstract:
The present invention apparatus (11) maintains a curved shape in a portion of a medical insufflation tube (15) and comprises a formable longitudinal semi-cylindrical member (39) having a longitudinal edge (57) thereon and a pair of collar elements (41 and 43) radially continuing therearound further than the longitudinal semi-cylindrical member (39). The formable clip apparatus (11 ) substantially encases and maintains a longitudinal bend (59) in the portion of the insufflation tube (15) that fits behind each of the patient's ears.In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, a fastener (13) retains a medical insufflation tube (15) to a patient's clothing (101) and is comprised of an annular-shaped portion (83) having an aperture (85) therein and an orifice (89) allowing entry thereto for circumferential engagement with the tube (15). The fastener (13) is further comprised of an integral pincer portion (91) having a pair of flexible inwardly angled legs (93 and 95), for attachment to the patient's clothing (101).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a product for structurally supporting polymer chains comprising fullerene molecules mixed with a polymer mass wherein the fullerene molecules have a relatively large bend radius over which the polymer chains contained therein can be deformably flexed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an accommodating sealing sleeve which allows for the off-axis connection of two conduits. The accommodating sealing sleeve is generally comprised of an annular housing and various internal components. The internal components include an adaptive seal, an adaptive seal retainer, a bushing and a garter spring. A conduit is inserted through the housing, adaptive seal retainer and adaptive seal to become locked in. The adaptive seal is flexible to accommodate the off-axis entry of the conduit into the accommodating sealing sleeve.
Abstract:
A swivellable fitting assembly has a housing with a stem with a rotatable nipple on the stem. The rotatable nipple is sealed and spaced from the nipple to enable rotation of the nipple or housing with respect to one another.
Abstract:
A swivelable quick connect assembly for use with tubular conduits is disclosed as comprising a housing having an axial bore for receiving one end of the conduit, an elastomeric ring-like seal is disposed in the bore for providing a fluid tight seal between confronting portions of the conduit and the housing, an annular bushing is disposed in the bore for positioning the seal and for guiding the one end of the conduit into nesting relationship with the bore, and a retainer is detachably secured to the housing and is cooperable with an annular projection on the conduit for securing the conduit in its operative position within the bore, the retainer having resilient deformable portions which are adapted to snap over the locking wall upon insertion of the conduit into the housing bore.
Abstract:
A fluid-tight coupling device comprising at least one lock sleeve to secure a flexible rolling diaphragm to a dirt shield and/or inner cylinder of an air adjustable shock absorber. The coupling device incorporates the use of tapered angles on the inner cylinder and dirt shield of the shock absorber. A tapered angle is also incorporated on the lock sleeve. The lock sleeve holds the flexible rolling diaphragm to the dirt shield and inner cylinder without the use of threads, crimps or adjustable clamping assemblies.

A swivelable quick connect assembly for use with tubular conduits is disclosed as comprising a housing having an axial bore for receiving one end of the conduit, an elastomeric ring-like seal is disposed in the bore for providing a fluid tight seal between confronting portions of the conduit and the housing, an annular bushing is disposed in the bore for positioning the seal and for guiding the one end of the conduit into nesting relationship with the bore, and a retainer is detachably secured to the housing and is cooperable with an annular projection on the conduit for securing the conduit in its operative position within the bore, the retainer having resilient deformable potions which are adapted to snap over the locking wall upon insertion of the conduit into the housing bore. Also, a safety sleeve is disclosed comprising a body, a tab on the body for indicating whether or not the conduit has been detached from the housing, and a window in the body for indicating whether or not the conduit is properly secured in the housing. Further, a retainer element is disclosed comprising a collar, an orientation means on the collar and at least one or more deflectable bent configuration legs projecting from the collar for retaining the conduit in the retainer element and in the housing.
