    Abstract: Disclosed is an optical film having an optical structure, such as a prism film or sheet, which is a constituent of a backlight unit. The optical film includes an optical structure layer having a plurality of optical structures, the surface of which is formed with irregularities, and the irregularities are formed on the surface of the light-collecting optical structure to satisfy predetermined conditions, thus effectively realizing a light-diffusing function, thereby eliminating the need to additionally mount a diffusion film or a protection film. When a particle dispersion layer is further formed on the surface of a transparent substrate opposite the surface having the optical structure layer, damage due to friction to prism films or other sheets may be prevented during the layering of the prism films or transport, thus obviating the use of a plurality of optical films.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an optical sheet having an optical structure, such as a prism film or sheet, which is a constituent of a backlight unit. In the optical sheet, protrusions are formed on the optical structure layer, and thus light-collecting efficiency in a front direction is maintained, and a function of diffusing light to the front or the inclined surface is also exhibited, thus eliminating the need to additionally mount a diffusion film or a protection film, thereby obviating the use of a plurality of optical films, consequently making it possible to economically manufacture a backlight unit with improved productivity.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are a washing machine and a sound control method thereof that are capable of canceling noise generated during an operation of the washing machine and, at the same time, informing a user of information related to the operation of the washing machine using a sound. The sound control method includes operating the washing machine according to an inputted operation command, sensing noise generated during the operation of the washing machine, reading a sound to cancel the sensed noise, and outputting the read sound in a state in which the read sound is mapped with the noise. Consequently, it is possible mask the noise, thereby minimizing the noise. Also, it is possible to sense a start and an end of each operation and a change of the operation based on the noise pattern, sense a user's access to the washing machine, and output a feedback sound, thereby informing of the progress information of the washing machine.
