A metal cutting drill bit has a shank portion, a flute portion defining a helix angle and a tip. The tip has a primary cutting edge extending to an outer periphery of the drill bit. The primary cutting edge has a rake face defining a rake angle. The rake angle is different from the helix angle at the tip of the drill bit.

A cordless nailer is provided having a magazine assembly with improved features. An improved latch mechanism for clearing nail jams is provided that reduces wear on the latch. A driver retention feature is provided to retain a drive blade from accidentally escaping the nailer. A pusher assembly is provided having a simplified and efficient construction. A pusher retention feature is provided that prevents the driver blade from impacting a nail pusher. A nail retention feature is provided to allow easy loading and unloading of nails into the nailer. Finally, a method of assembling the magazine assembly is provided.

A substrate processing chamber component is a structure having an integral surface coating comprising an yttrium-aluminum compound. The component may be fabricated by forming a metal alloy comprising yttrium and aluminum into the component shape and anodizing its surface to form an integral anodized surface coating. The chamber component may be also formed by ion implanting material in a preformed metal shape. The component may be one or more of a chamber wall, substrate support, substrate transport, gas supply, gas energizer and gas exhaust.

A solid solution-comprising ceramic article useful in semiconductor processing, which article may be in the form of a solid, bulk ceramic, or may be in the form of a substrate having a ceramic coating of the same composition as the bulk ceramic material on at least one outer surface. The ceramic article is resistant to erosion by halogen-containing plasmas and provides advantageous mechanical properties. The solid solution-comprising ceramic article is formed from a combination of yttrium oxide and zirconium oxide. The ceramic-comprising article includes ceramic which is formed from zirconium oxide at a molar concentration ranging from about 96 mole % to about 91 mole %, and yttrium oxide at a molar concentration ranging from about 4 mole % to about 9 mole %.

A communication method for use by an input/output (I/O) scanner coupled to a programmable logic controller (PLC) includes coupling at least one I/O module to a backplane, and coupling a maintenance module to the backplane. The communication method also includes selectively enabling and disabling communication between the backplane and the at least one I/O module by actuating a switch in the maintenance module such that network communication is maintained by a network interface regardless of whether communication between the backplane and the at least one I/O module is enabled.

A method and system for controlling vehicle stability may comprise determining whether a vehicle is oversteering or understeering and, if the vehicle is oversteering or understeering, determining an amount by which to reduce a speed of the vehicle to correct for understeering or oversteering and applying brake pressure to at least the rear brakes of the vehicle to reduce vehicle speed. The method and system also may comprise determining an engine torque reduction amount based on vehicle oversteer or understeer conditions, reducing engine torque by the determined amount or to zero if the determined amount of engine torque reduction is greater than an actual engine torque, and applying braking to at least the rear brakes of the vehicle if the determined amount of engine torque reduction is greater than the actual engine torque.

Embodiments of the invention contemplate the formation of a high efficiency solar cell using a novel plasma oxidation process to form a passivation film stack on a surface of a solar cell substrate. In one embodiment, the methods include providing a substrate having a first type of doping atom on a back surface of the substrate and a second type of doping atom on a front surface of the substrate, plasma oxidizing the back surface of the substrate to form an oxidation layer thereon, and forming a silicon nitride layer on the oxidation layer.
