Abstract:
This invention relates to a composite panel made from wood and cementitious binders, with flat surfaces and several possible colours. The said panel comprises 35 to 85% of grey or white Portland cement; 10 to 30% of debarked resinous wood particles; 5 to 20% of semi-hydrated calcium sulphate; 0 to 10% of a surface accelerator; 0 to 10% of aluminium sulphate solution; 0 to 30% of calcium carbonate; and 0 to 15% of pigments. The invention uses the process of preparation for the existing VIROC panel, adjusting it to the new material. This panel, in addition to being very resistant and showing high performances in terms of resistance to impact, humidity, temperature variation, noise and fungi, as well as other microorganisms, also complies with all the requirements of the associated product standard.
Abstract:
A graphitizable carbon foam having enhanced directional thermal conductivity is provided. The mesophase portions of a mesophase pitch are aligned with each other to create an oriented mesophase pitch, which is then foamed to provide an oriented pitch foam. The pitch foam can be heated to carbonize the pitch thereby forming an oriented carbon foam. The carbon foam can be further heated to provide an oriented graphite foam.
Abstract:
A thermally enhanced, single component, geothermal grout from recycled materials, such as class F fly ash and cement kiln dust. Additional components can include a mid-range water reducer and a dry caustic.
Abstract:
A method of forming a wallboard material can include forming a mixture including microparticles, sodium silicate and vinyl acetate. The mixture can be disposed between a metallic facing membrane and a second facing membrane. The mixture can then be heat cured in a single step sufficient to form a wallboard material having the metallic facing membrane and the second facing membrane attached to a core matrix. The heat curing time is complete in less than about 1.5 hours without causing damage to the wallboard material.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a dark, flat element, preferably a plastic, lacquer coating or fiber material, having reduced density, low heat conductivity and low solar absorption. The flat element has a relatively high reflection in the near infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum in order to reduce heating by sunlight in the near infrared area despite dark tinting in the visible range. Low density and low heat conductivity are obtained inter alia by inserting light filling materials into the flat element. Said flat element can be used in places where surfaces are dark tinted for aesthetic or technical reasons but should not heat up in sunlight and should give off little heat when touched by hand or by other parts of the body. Other areas of application include surfaces which should have a heat insulating effect in addition to the above-mentioned characteristics.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composite target in the form of a bar made of ceramic powders and designed to be evaporated under an electron beam, the target comprising zirconia and at least one zirconia stabilizer. In characteristic manner, said target is wherein said zirconia stabilizer is at a molar content lying in the range 2% to 30% and wherein said zirconia is formed by more than 90% of a monoclinic phase. The invention is applicable to fabricating a ceramic thermal barrier of low thermal conductivity and high thermomechanical strength formed by evaporation under an electron beam.

Abstract:
The invention provides a heat resistant insulation composite comprising an insulation base layer comprising hollow, non-porous particles and a matrix binder, and a thermally reflective layer comprising a protective binder and an infrared reflecting agent, wherein the heat resistant insulation composite has a thermal conductivity of about 50 mW/(m·K) or less. The invention also provides a method of preparing a heat resistant insulation composite.
Abstract:
A honeycomb filter 1, which comprises an integral structure of a plurality of honeycomb segments 12 bonded by an adhesive 8. The honeycomb segment has numbers of through-holes 3, which are surrounded by partition walls 2 and extend in the axial direction of the segment. The honeycomb filter is characterized in that a ratio of a thermal conductivity nulls of the honeycomb segment 12 to a thermal conductivity nulla of the adhesive 8 , nulls/nulla, is in a range of 5 to 300 and a density nulla of the adhesive 8 is in a range of 0.1 to 4 g/cc. The honeycomb filter can prevent excessive temperature increase, can be low in non-uniformity of temperature distribution, and can be superior in durability.
