Abstract:
The invention relates to compatibilized release compositions useful in release layers of release articles (e.g., release liners) and adhesive articles (e.g., pressure sensitive adhesive tapes). The compatibilized release compositions comprise a mixture of a thermoplastic olefin-based polymer comprising an acid or a base functionality and a polymeric release material comprising an acid or a base functionality. The functionality of the thermoplastic olefin-based polymer and the functionality of the polymeric release material are selected to provide an acid-base interaction.
Abstract:
A linerless ink-jet recording adhesive label can be provided which has a suitability for ink-jet recording without requiring a release paper. The adhesive label is excellent in adhesive and peeling properties, without causing the increase of peel force even over time. The linerless ink-jet recording adhesive label can contain an ink-jet recording sheet as a substrate, a release agent layer provided on the front surface of the substrate, and an adhesive layer provided on the rear surface of the substrate. The release agent composing the release agent layer can contain at least one polymer of a polyvinyl alcohol containing a long-chain alkyl group, an amino-alkyd resin containing a long-chain alkyl group, and/or a polyethylenimine containing a long-chain alkyl group. The adhesive layer can be formed by an adhesive containing fine spheres.

A protective tape used for optical member comprising a plastic film base, an adhesive layer formed on one side of the plastic film base and a treated layer formed on an opposite side of the plastic film base, wherein the treated layer is formed with a treat agent comprising a release agent containing long chain alkyl group or silicone resin, and a cellulose polymer. The protective tape used for optical member is enabled to direct print with an ink on the treated layer and have a low adhesive property with the adhesive applied to an optical film.

Release agents are provided which comprise the polymeric reaction product of a fatty diamine with a diisocyanate and, optionally, a diol. These polyurea and polycarbamate products have the following recurring formula:
WHEREIN A is an alkylene radical containing about two to six carbon atoms, B is an arylene radical containing about 6 to 16 carbon atoms, D is an aliphatic organic radical containing about two to six carbon atoms, R is an alkyl radical containing about 12 to 25 carbon atoms, R'' is hydrogen or an alkyl radical containing about one to 25 carbon atoms, a and b represent the number of recurring units and the ratio of b/a varies from 0 to 2, and c is 0, 1 or 2. Also provided are pressure sensitive adhesive tapes and release liners utilizing these novel release agents.
