Abstract:
Floor panels are provided with a mechanical locking system including a flexible locking element in a locking groove which during a horizontal motion is displaced vertically.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a covering consisting of elements that can be mechanically interconnected, at least one of the elements being a panel (1, 1a-1d, 2, 2a-2d) with the following characteristics: a) the sides (6) of the elements facing one another have a corresponding profiled section that can be used to interlock adjoining elements by means of a substantially vertical or pivoting connection movement in a horizontal and vertical direction; b) the interlocking can be achieved by a tongue element (11) that is hinged on one of the elements and that can be pivoted behind a locking edge (17) of the other element during the connection movement, said edge extending substantially in a horizontal direction; c) during the connection of adjoining elements, the tongue element (11) slides down a supporting surface (19) of the adjoining element, said surface lying opposite the locking edge (17). The supporting surface (19) that points towards the locking edge (17) is inclined in relation to a displacement plane (V) and causes a horizontal displacement of the tongue element (11, 11a-11d) behind the locking edge (17). Alternatively, the supporting surface (19) runs parallel to the displacement plane (V) and the free end (20) of the tongue element is inclined in relation to the displacement plane (V), thus causing a horizontal displacement of the tongue element (11d) behind the locking edge (17) during the connection of the adjoining elements (1d, 2d).
Abstract:
A locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards constructed from a body, a rear balancing layer and an upper surface layer. A strip, which is integrally formed with the body of the floorboard and which projects from a joint plane and under an adjoining board has a locking element which engages a locking groove in the rear side of the adjoining board. The joint edge provided with the strip is modified with respect to the balancing layer, for example by means of machining of the balancing layer under the strip, in order to prevent deflection of the strip caused by changes in relative humidity. Also, a floorboard provided with such a locking system, as well as a method for making floorboards with such a locking system.
Abstract:
A locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards including horizontal joining of a first and a second joint edge portion of a first and a second floorboard respectively at a vertical joint plane and vertical joining of the first and second joint edge portions, the tongue, the tongue groove, the locking element and the locking groove have a configuration that allows insertion of the locking element into the locking groove by inward angling of the second floorboard towards the first floorboard while maintaining contact between the joint edge portions, and the tongue, the tongue grove, the locking element and the locking groove have a configuration that allows insertion of the locking element into the locking groove by a substantially vertical snap action.
Abstract:
A process for installation of surface elements (1), the surface elements (1) comprising a core, a decorative upper surface (3) and edges (2) provided with joining means for mechanically locking the surface elements (1) together. Predetermined portions of the edges (2) are provided with a glue which is present on the edges (2) of the surface elements (1) in a passive dry form and which may be activated by applying a liquid. The surface elements (1) are joined to each other by use of the joining means wherein a unit of a plurality of surface elements (1) is formed.
Abstract:
Hard panels formed from a wood-based material and having a decorative layer for floor coverings are provided, at least on two opposite edges, with coupling devices made in one piece with the panels wherein similar panels may be coupled together to form a floor covering, wherein these coupling devices provide for an interlocking in a direction perpendicular to the plane of coupled panels, as well as in a direction perpendicular to the edges concerned and parallel to the plane of coupled panels. These coupling devices are constituted of a tongue and a groove. The top side of the tongue has a protrusion that cooperates with a meshing recess located in the lower side of the upper lip of the groove of the coupling devices, and a portion extending generally parallel with the plane of the panel to form a contact surface cooperating with the lower side of the upper lip of the groove.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a floor panel comprising a carrier layer, a wear layer made of a soft/resilient material, and at least two opposite pairs of locking edges, where at least the locking edges of one pair are designed as form-fitting edges and in such a way that two floor panels can be connected by means of these formfitting edges, and where the form-fitting edges each display a horizontal locking surface which, in connected state, together counteract separation of the floor panels in a direction lying in the floor plane and perpendicular to the form-fitting edges, where each form-fitting edge displays a joint-sealing area in the area of the soft/resilient wear layer, and where the horizontal locking surfaces and the joint-sealing areas are coordinated in such a way that, in connected state of two floor panels, initial compression of the joint-sealing areas against each other can be produced and, as a result, a tightly sealed joint in the area of the soft/resilient wear layer.
Abstract:
Floor panel, more particularly a laminate floor panel, wherein this floor panel comprises a decor, a top layer on the basis of synthetic material, and an underlying substrate (13), whether or not composed of several layers or parts, wherein the floor panel (1), in the surface over which the decor (10) extends, is provided with embossed portions.
Abstract:
Floor panels are shown, which are provided with a mechanical locking system on long and short edges allowing installation with vertical snap folding that could be accomplished automatically without tools and where the short edge locking system has a tongue made in one piece with the panel.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for machining a locking groove (9) into a groove flank (5, 6) of a panel comprising an upper and a lower side, whereby the locking groove is provided in the part of the joint groove (4) surrounded by the groove flanks, whereby the locking groove is machined by means of a rotating milling tool (12), comprising a drive (14), a milling head (13), a transmission device (11) for the rotational movement and a mounting for the milling head. The milling has a free radius (r) at least on the mounting side due to the mounting and, during the machining of the locking groove, the milling head (13) has at least a significant proportion of the free radius (r) thereof, in particular, the entirety thereof located in the part of the joint groove surrounded by groove flanks.
