Abstract: Provided is an optical modulator in which degradation of an extinction ratio is suppressed and a temperature drift phenomenon is suppressed.An optical modulator includes: a substrate having an electro-optic effect; an optical waveguide formed on the substrate; and a control electrode for controlling light waves propagating through the optical waveguide, in which the optical waveguide has one or more Mach-Zehnder type optical waveguides (A1 to A3 and B1 to B3), the control electrode has DC electrodes (C1 to C4) which apply DC bias, a feeder electrode which feeds DC bias to the DC electrode crosses one of two branched waveguides of the Mach-Zehnder type optical waveguide, and a first dummy electrode (a dotted line E5 or E6) is provided at a specific position on the other one of the two branched waveguides, which is a specific position symmetrical in relation to a position at which the feeder electrode crosses the one of the two branched waveguides.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a polarizer, a display panel and a display device. A flexible electrode layer in the polarizer is located between an adjacent polarizing layer and one functional film layer or located between two adjacent functional film layers. Specifically, the polarizer provided by embodiments of the present invention adds a flexible electrode layer in the structure of the polarizer, thereby enabling the polarizer to have both the optical function of a conventional polarizer and the additional flexible electrode function. When the multifunctional polarizer is applied in a display device, the functions of electrostatic shielding and protecting the display device can be achieved. Particularly, when the multifunctional polarizer is applied in an In Plane Swtiching (IPS) liquid crystal display device, it can replace the shielding electrode structure at the color film substrate side so as to implement the function of electrostatic shielding.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a transparent conductive polymer electrode including a plurality of electrode lines formed of droplets of conductive polymer, each of the electrode lines including first and second regions having different conductive polymer droplet hit densities. The first region has a ratio of b/a within a range of 0.2 to 0.8, where “a” is a distance from a center to an edge of the electrode line in at least one direction of width and length directions thereof, and “b” is a distance from the center to an edge of the first region in the at least one direction. The second region is the remaining region of the electrode line, and the conductive polymer droplet hit density of the second region is lower than that of the first region.

Abstract: A camera system includes an image sensor assembly and a tunable optical element. The tunable optical element is a polymer dispersed liquid crystal lens doublet using a PDLC layer. The doublet is tunable by applying an electric field to the optical element via a control element. The control element applies a voltage differential to the optical element inducing an electric field which changes the polarization of the PDLC within the optical element. The refractive index of the lens doublet is dependent on the polarization of the liquid crystals within the optical element. Applying the electric field to the tunable element changes the optical properties of the lens doublet.
