Abstract: A two-component polyurethane composition comprising: an aqueous dispersion comprising an emulsion polymer and a specific sulphate and/or sulfonate surfactant, and a water-dispersible polyisocyanate; the emulsion polymer with a weight average molecular weight of 70,000 g/mol or less comprising, by weight based on the weight of the emulsion polymer, greater than 0.25% of structural units of a phosphorous-containing acid monomer and/or salts thereof, greater than 15% of structural units of a hydroxy-functional alkyl (meth)acrylate, structural units of an monoethylenically unsaturated nonionic monomer, and from zero to 10% of structural units of an additional acid monomer and/or salts thereof; and a process of preparing the two-component polyurethane composition.

Abstract: According to one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a coated film may be made by a process that may include applying an uncured polyurethane precursor between a polyolefin film and a release liner such that a first surface of the release liner is in contact with the uncured polyurethane precursor, curing the uncured polyurethane precursor to form a cured polyurethane layer positioned between the polyolefin film and the release liner, and removing the release liner to form the coated film comprising the polyolefin film and the cured polyurethane layer. The first surface of the release liner may have an optical finish. The curing may impart an optical finish to the cured polyurethane layer substantially similar to the optical finish of the first surface of the release liner.

Abstract: A slitting machine (500) includes a laminated film unwinding apparatus (540), a release liner recovery apparatus (550), a cutting apparatus (530), and a plurality of polymer substrate strip rewinding apparatuses (510, 520). The laminated film unwinding apparatus (540) is operable to unwind a roll of laminated film (542) comprising at least a polymer substrate (100) and a release liner (150). The release liner recovery apparatus (550) is operable to wind the release liner (150) that is released from the polymer substrate (100). The cutting apparatus (530) is operable to cut at least the polymer substrate (100) along a machine direction to divide the polymer substrate into strips. The plurality of polymer substrate strip rewinding apparatuses (510, 520) are operable to wind one or more strips of the polymer substrate (100) onto one or more rolls (512, 522). The slitting machine (500) is operable to carry out a method for forming rolls (512, 522) of coated films (100).
