Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatus for a user equipment to mitigate interference in a wireless charging state. The user equipment may determine when the user equipment enters a wireless charging state and, when the user equipment enters the wireless charging state, activate an interference mitigation. The user equipment may further determine when the UE exits the wireless charging state and, when the user equipment exits the wireless charging state, deactivate the interference mitigation.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to techniques for avoiding denial of service in a wireless communication system. A wireless device may unsuccessfully attempt to obtain cellular service. Based at least in part on cause information for the unsuccessful attempt to obtain cellular service, and potentially also based at least in part on cause information for one or more previous unsuccessful attempts to obtain cellular service, the wireless device may selectively determine to disable one or more features at the wireless device, bar a cell on which the unsuccessful attempt to obtain cellular service is made, bar a public land mobile network on which the unsuccessful attempt to obtain cellular service is made, and/or bar a radio access technology according to which the unsuccessful attempt to obtain cellular service is made and perform a subsequent attempt to obtain cellular service.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for user equipment (UE) devices to perform more efficient frequency scans for potential base stations. According to techniques described herein, the UE may, in response to detecting that UE does not have cellular service, perform a full band scan to search for a last registered public land mobile network (PLMN) and the full band scan may discover one or more cells not associated with the last registered PLMN. The UE may populate a database with one or more parameters associated with the one or more cells and in response to not finding the last registered PLMN, perform a targeted scan limited to a set of PLMNs found during the full band scan. In some embodiments, each PLMN in the set of PLMNs may be comprised in a roaming PLMN list for an operator.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for EPS fallback when initiating a voice call while camped on a 5G cell. The UE may camp on a 5G network by performing an IMS registration procedure/IMS SIP invite procedure with an IMS. The UE may initiate a voice call and determine that the voice call cannot be established over the 5G NR network. In response, the UE may perform a TAU procedure or an attachment procedure with a cell of a 4G network. The IMS may be transferred to the 4G network during TAU/attachment procedure. The UE may, in response to determining that it is barred from the 4G network, transition back to the 5G network and transmit, to the 5G NR network, a SIP cancel request to allow a context associated with the UE to be cleared from the IMS.

Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for refreshing a GUTI of a UE. The UE may receive a GUTI from an AMF as part of a registration process. After a timer has expired, the UE may receive a new GUTI from the AMF. The timer may be provided by the UE as a request for use by the AMF. Alternatively, the timer may be used by the UE and the UE may request the new GUTI upon expiry of the timer, e.g., using an existing message or a new message, as desired.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to managing access to 5G cellular baseband resources for 5G-capable wireless devices. A wireless device can monitor application workloads by analyzing communication network performance requirements for a given application in-use or launching for future use along with system-level indications of overall device usage, battery level, and mobility status to determine whether access to 5G cellular baseband resources is recommended for an application. A 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is provided for an application indicating a level of bandwidth in current use or expected for future use as well as a confidence metric in the bandwidth level indication. The 5G cellular baseband resource recommendation is used with additional device criteria to determine whether access to one or more 5G radio frequency bands is allowed.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to reattempt to establish a multiple access (MA) protocol data unit (PDU) session when the UE moves to a new registration area. The UE transmits a request for a MA PDU session to the network, receives a message from the network indicating the request has been rejected, wherein the message further includes a status indication for reattempt requests to establish the MA PDU session, determines, when the UE moves into a new registration area of a PLMN, whether reattempt requests are allowed based on, at least, the status indication and transmits, when reattempt requests are allowed, a further request to establish the MA PDU session.

Abstract: Systems and methods for enhanced power control at a user equipment (UE) under poor channel conditions respective to antenna transmit diversity (ATD) mechanisms are discussed herein. In some embodiments, a UE may reset a transmit power control (TPC) power adjustment value when an ATD antenna switch of the ATD mechanism is performed. In some embodiments, a UE may reduce the value of an ATD hysteresis timer upon determining that a reference signal receive power (RSRP) change on a monitored reference signal that drives a pathloss calculation at the UE exceeds a threshold. In some embodiments, a UE may scale a filtering coefficient of a pathloss calculation mechanism upon determining that an RSRP change on a monitored reference signal that drives a pathloss calculation at the UE exceeds a threshold.
