Abstract:
In order to accomplish efficient communication of data between a base station and a plurality of mobile terminals, particular orthogonal codes are transmitted from the mobile stations to the base station as alert signals indicating the presence of data to be transmitted. The base station checks whether particular orthogonal codes are contained in the alert signals, and when the particular orthogonal codes are detected in the alert signals, information representing the detected orthogonal codes and the schedules for transmitting the data from the mobile terminals to the base station are transmitted from the base station to the mobile terminals as an alert response to the alert signals. When the information representing the orthogonal codes used for the alert signals are contained in the alert response transmitted from the base station to the mobile terminals, the data waiting to be transmitted is transmitted from the mobile terminals to the base station according the data transmission schedules in the alert response.
Abstract:
Document information management system capable of generating human/computer interactive document sheets that allow relevant information retrieval at user remote sites. A file server stores a plurality of source data files related to respectively corresponding information components. A sheet-formed information medium is provided on which document objects including the information components, link information for linking a source data file with a corresponding information component, and selecting information for selecting arbitrary information components are recorded. A control terminal apparatus is connected to the file server and includes a communication function and a retrieval function for retrieving a desired file stored in the file server. At least one remote terminal apparatus is capable of reading the sheet-formed information medium, receiving data from and transmitting data to the control terminal apparatus, and producing a document received from the control terminal apparatus on a recording sheet. Upon receiving the selecting information and the link information included in the transmitted data of the sheet-formed information medium from the remote terminal apparatus, the control terminal apparatus retrieves a corresponding source data file stored in the file server by use of the selecting information and the link information, and transmits the corresponding source data file to the at remote terminal apparatus. The remote terminal apparatus can produce a document that includes the corresponding source data file on a recording sheet.
Abstract:
In a spread spectrum communication system, one (W.sub.n) of a series of orthogonal codes for spectrum spreading is assigned to signal-to-noise ratio measurement in a terminal. On the basis of a noise signal detected by de-spreading a signal received from an antenna with the above described orthogonal code W.sub.n and a pilot signal, each terminal derives a signal-to-noise ratio. Each terminal transmits the signal-to-noise ratio to the base station as a power control signal. On the basis of signal-to-noise information received from each terminal as the power control signal, the base station controls signal transmission power for each terminal.
Abstract:
Cellular mobile communication system includes a plurality of base stations connected to a relay station, each base station having adaptability for coping with change in traffic volume within a relevant cell covered thereby. Each base station includes a variable gain power amplifier for amplifying a pilot signal and a power control circuit for controlling the gain of the power amplifier. The power control circuit controls gain of a pilot signal sending power in accordance with a control signal supplied from a device installed in a relay station for monitoring traffic states of the individual base stations. The relay station issues a command for lowering the power gain for the base station which covers a traffic-concentrated cell while raising the power gain for the base stations covering the neighboring cells, to thereby contract the size of the traffic-concentrated cell. With a smaller number of base stations, communication demand can be controlled over a broad area.
Abstract:
A network interface unit couples a lattice communication network and at least one token ring network. The network interface unit includes a sequence controller which controls a token detector and a reception register so that message information received from the lattice communication network via a node apparatus connection port is looped back from the token ring network via a terminal connection port and output from the node apparatus connection port when an address detector detects that a destination address matches a stored source address, and absorbed when the address detector detects that the destination address does not match the stored source address. The network interface unit also includes a phantom signal part which outputs a detection signal via the terminal connection port when a phantom signal has been received, the phantom signal part including a set of resistors coupled to the terminal connection port, each of the resistors having a resistance that produces a detection signal having an appropriate level.
Abstract:
A single node communication network control system which uses a plurality of transmit/receive terminals connected to the node, are controlled by the single node. A connection control device is installed in the node for controlling the connection of plurality of input channels and output channels which correspond to the input channels. This control means connects only the input channel on which first forward information has arrived the earliest. The connection control means then disconnects the output channels from the input channels except for the connected input channel which has not been used for other communication.

A photosensitive material of the diazonium type which comprises a support, a precoat layer thereon and a photosensitive layer of a diazonium compound is improved by using a graft copolymer on a cellulose derivative as the precoat layer. A hydrophilic epoxy compound may be used in the precoat layer and a coupler and a benzenediazonium hexafluorophosphate derivative may be used in the photosensitive layer.
Abstract:
A communication network includes a plurality of nodes which are connected by transmission lines, preferably of optical fibers. One or more terminals such as general purpose computers are connected to selected ones of the nodes also via the transmission lines. Each of the nodes comprises a plurality of input channels, a like plurality of output channels and a connection controller for controlling the connecting condition between the input and output channels. Each of the input channels is paired with one of the output channels. The input and output channels of one pair of a first node are connected through the transmission lines to the output and input channels, respectively, of one pair of a second node or a first terminal, and the input and output channels of another pair of the first node are connected through the transmission lines to the output and input channels, respectively, of one pair of a third node or a second terminal.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for recording information on a magnetic recording medium with high density is provided. A heat spot of predetermined area is applied to the recording medium to raise the local temperature of the recording medium where the heat spot is applied above the Curie point of the recording medium. The heat spot is moved along the recording medium and a magnetic field is applied when a part of the recording medium heated by the heat spot is in the neighborhood of the Curie point in its cooling process, thereby recording information on the recording medium. In accordance with the present invention, an element or bit of information to be recorded on the recording medium is formed by a portion of the heat spot; thus, it relaxes recording conditions and allows to increase recording density.
Abstract:
A method for de-ashing crushed coal and transporting it in the form of pellets, said method comprising the following steps:A. the step of mixing pulverized coal with a binder to cover the surfaces of coal particles with the binder;B. the step of adding water to the pulverized coal;C. the step of stirring the slurry to disperse ash particles in the pulverized coal into water and to agglomerate coal particles in the pulverized coal by tumbling, whereby forming pelletized coal; andD. the step of separating the pelletized coal from the ash particles, and transporting the pelletized coal. The above basic four steps may be combined with the following steps depending on the state and particle size of raw coal:E. the step of crushing raw coal and separating it into high-ash coal and purified crushed coal, and further pulverizing the purified crushed coal and supplying the resulting powder to the above step A; andF. the step of separating by gravity separation the pellets obtained in the above step D into high-ash pellets and purified pellets, and transporting the resulting purified pellets.
