Abstract: A proppant container facilitates the transportation of wet sand for use in a hydraulic fracturing operation. The proppant container is provided with a system for dislodging the wet sand for subsequent use. This may be done by use of a vibrator or an umbrella valve. In another aspect, the proppant container may be used in combination with a rack having a wash system that slurries the proppant for delivery to a blender tub without necessarily resorting to use of a conveyor belt.

Abstract: A conveyor system for conveying material may include a conveyor belt, a feeding mechanism for feeding materials to be conveyed onto the conveyor belt, and a belt system in which the conveyor belt is guided. The belt system may include a first belt-shaping device with which the conveyor belt can be shaped into a U shape. Thus the material to be conveyed may be brought from a substantially flat shape into the U shape. A second belt-shaping device of the belt system may shape the conveyor belt downstream of the feeding mechanism in the conveying direction to form a closed tube. The feeding mechanism may include a catching region configured such that material to be conveyed accumulates therein and forms an impact surface onto which the material to be conveyed can be fed.

Abstract: A tensioning mechanism for a conveyor system includes a support structure, a first carriage, a second carriage, and a brake mechanism. The first carriage is positioned proximate a first end of the support structure and is supported for movement relative to the support structure. The first carriage includes first rolls for receiving the belt such that movement of the first carriage modifies a tension in the belt. The second carriage is supported for movement relative to the support structure and includes second rolls and at least one return pulley. The second rolls are configured to support a portion of the belt extending between the first carriage and the second carriage. The brake mechanism is positioned proximate a second end of the support structure and includes a brake pulley and a brake selectively retarding rotation of the brake pulley. The brake pulley supports a portion of the belt extending between the brake mechanism and the return pulley.

Abstract: In accordance with presently disclosed embodiments, systems and methods for using containers, instead of pneumatic transfer, to move bulk material from a transportation unit to a blender receptacle (e.g., hopper or mixer of a blender) are provided. A transportation unit may deliver multiple containers of bulk material to the well site, where multiple conveyors may deliver the containers to a location proximate the blender receptacle. Openings at the bottom of the containers are arranged adjacent one another so that the load of two containers may be delivered to the tight space occupied by the blender receptacle. Since the transportation unit is able to unload the containers of bulk material without pneumatic transfer, the containers may enable a cleaner and more efficient bulk material transfer at the site.

Abstract: A system for distributing a fracking proppant at a well site using a support frame to position a series of storage containers above a conveyor. The support frame receives a plurality of storage container and aligns the storage containers with hoppers formed on the conveyor. The support frame can include outriggers that extend to increase the stability and the amount of supported weight. The support frame includes a series of cross supports that extend across the conveyor belts to support the storage containers. The cross supports can include load cells to monitor the weight of the storage containers and stored proppant. The width of the cross supports can be adjusted and the support frame can include an extension frame to expand the width of the support frame. A control panel is included to display the status of the containers (full/empty/partially full) and control and monitoring the discharge rate of the plurality of containers.

Abstract: A concave conveyor belt idler system for use on the return run of a conveyor belt system, the idler being configured to maintain alignment of the belt and inherently adjust any misalignment thereof occurring during operation of the system. The concave conveyor belt idler system includes an elongated support member extending transversely of a conveyor belt return run and supporting a plurality of idler roller modules positioned such that the roller modules along the anterior side of the support member define a cave shape for supporting the conveyor belt, with the outer lateral edges at a lower elevation than the central portion of the conveyor belt. In a conveyor belt system the concave conveyor belt idler of the disclosed technology is positioned between two planate idler systems, on the return run, so that the center roller of the concave idler is in or near the plane of the belt as it traverses the planate idler systems, with the remaining rollers of the concave idler positioned below this plane.
