Abstract:
To coordinate tasks executed by a plurality of threads that each includes plural task sections, a call of a mark primitive to mark a first point after a first of the plural task sections is provided. Also, a call of a second primitive is provided to indicate that a second of the plural task sections is not allowed to begin until after the plurality of threads have each reached the first point.
Abstract:
A computer-implemented method for determining a bid for a auction. A valuation for the auction, a risk preference, and a rate of change of the risk preference are received. A joint distribution is determined based on historical auction information and at least one updated valuation for an historical auction. A density of the joint distribution is determined. The bid is determined based on the risk preference, the rate of change of the risk preference, the valuation, the joint distribution, and the density of the joint distribution.
Abstract:
Provided are techniques for determining a state of flow through, or a cut of, a network in which some the capacities of at least some of the conduits are dependent upon a specified parameter. Initially, a derived network is obtained by replacing capacities in the original network that depend upon the parameter. A particular flow state then is identified for that derived network, and this flow state is used to determine either a state of flow through or a cut of the original network.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for electrochemically determining an analyte concentration value in a physiological sample are disclosed. The methods include using a test strip in which two time-current transients are measured by a meter electrically connected to an electrochemical test strip. Integrative current values are derived from the time-current transients and used in the calculation of analyte concentration.
Abstract:
In a method of preserving characteristics of desensitized database information for use in database management system benchmarking, at least one column of sensitive data from a database is accessed. The at least one column of sensitive data is sorted into a sorted data representation. Desensitized data is generated by sequentially mapping ascending different values of the sorted data representation to ascending desensitized values generated according to a strictly monotone increasing randomly generated function. The mapping results in a plurality of mapped desensitized values which are associated with the sorted data representation. The mapped desensitized values are unsorted into a desensitized database according to sorting information related to the sorted data representation. As a result of the unsorting, cardinalities of the at least one column of sensitive data are maintained within the desensitized database.
Abstract:
A portable electronic device includes a housing, at least one thermoscope unit mounted on the housing, a processor unit connected to the thermscope unit, and at least one light emitting unit connected to the processor unit. The processor unit stores data of predetermined different light colors corresponding to different ambient temperature ranges. The thermoscope unit detects ambient temperature, the processor unit obtains the ambient temperature from the thermoscope unit and controls the light emitting unit to emit light in predetermined colors corresponding to the ambient temperature range according to the stored data.
Abstract:
A system and method for the network operation of a universal remote controller (URC) and the URC for realizing said system have been disclosed in the invention, said system comprises: a user service subsystem, a data storing and exchanging device and a user operation subsystem. The network operation method for said URC comprises: collecting the parameters of an existing user's remote controller (RC) via a RC sampling device, analyzing and processing the parameter data as a code program, and transferring to the server device via the Internet in order to store and exchange the data; reading the required program from the server device by the URC via the user terminal device and the Internet to realize the function of the URC. In said URC, the URC is provided with a USB interface circuit for downloading the data on the network into the URC. The invention solves the problem of a number of confused RCs in modern families The network services of the URC can be provided so that a uniform way can be found for the after-service of a plurality of types of RCs.
Abstract:
A light emitting device comprising a light emitting component that emits light with a first peak wavelength, and at least one sintered ceramic plate over the light emitting component is described. The at least one sintered ceramic plate is capable of absorbing at least a portion of the light emitted from said light emitting component and emitting light of a second peak wavelength, and has a total light transmittance at the second peak wavelength of greater than about 40%. A method for improving the luminance intensity of a light emitting device comprising providing a light emitting component and positioning at least one translucent sintered ceramic plate described above over the light emitting component is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A light sensor having first and second photodetectors and a current mirror is disclosed. The first photodetector receives a light signal and generates a light current proportional to the light intensity received by the first photodetector and a dark current that is independent of the light intensity. The second photodetector is connected in series with the first photodetector at a first node. The second photodetector has a covering that prevents light from reaching the second photodetector. The second photodetector generates a current equal to the dark current. The first photodetector is connected to a power source and the second photodetector is connected to an output node. The current mirror is connected to the first node and the output node and generates an output current that is proportional to the light current through the output node when the output node is connected to an external circuit.
Abstract:
A method using drive test data for propagation model calibration includes: step 1, obtaining original drive test data; step 2, selecting the data from the drive test data according to predefined conditions as effective drive test data; and step 3, extracting the effective drive test data to form a data file used for propagation model calibration. An apparatus using drive test data for propagation model calibration includes: a drive test data obtaining module, configured to obtain the drive test data in the regions to be calibrated; an effective drive test data generation module, configured to generate effective drive test data from the drive test data according to predefined conditions; and a data file generation module, configured to extract the effective drive test data to form a data file used for propagation model calibration. The present invention utilizes drive test data of existing networks to largely decrease the CW test work and reduce the network building cost. It is believed that the calibrated model can relatively accurately reflect the propagation characteristics in the field. Furthermore, base stations can be optimally allocated.
