    Abstract: A process for increasing the melt strength of a polyethylene resin comprising a) selecting a polyethylene resin having i) a density, as determined according to ASTM D792, in the range of from 0.865 g/cm3 to 0.97 g/cm3, and ii) a melt index, I2, as determined according to ASTM D1238 (2.16 kg, 190° C.), in the range of from 0.01 g/10 min to 100 g/10 min; b) reacting from 10 ppm to 1000 ppm of at least one peroxide having a 1 hour half-life decomposition temperature from 160° C. to 250° C. with the polyethylene resin under conditions sufficient to increase the melt strength of the polyethylene resin is provided. Also provided are a masterbatch composition and a polymeric composition.

    Abstract: A high pressure polymerization process to form an ethylene-based polymer comprises the steps of: A. Injecting a first feed comprising ethylene and optionally a chain transfer agent system (CTA system) into a first autoclave reactor zone operating at polymerization conditions to produce a first zone reaction product, the CTA system of the first reactor zone having a transfer activity Z1; and B. (1) Transferring at least part of the first zone reaction product to a second reactor zone selected from a second autoclave reactor zone or a tubular reactor zone and operating at polymerization conditions, and, optionally, (2) freshly injecting a second feed into the second reactor zone to produce a second zone reaction product, with the proviso that the second reactor zone contains a CTA system having a transfer activity Z2; and with the proviso that the ratio of Z1/Z2 is less than 1.

    Abstract: The instant invention provides a polyolefin composition suitable for packaging applications, films, multilayer structures and packaging devices made therefrom. The polyolefin composition according to the present invention comprises: an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition comprising (a) from 50 to 75 percent by weight of a first ethylene/α-olefin copolymer fraction having a density in the range of 0.894 to 0.908 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of from 0.2 to 1 g/10 minutes, and (b) from 25 to 50 percent by weight of a second ethylene/α-olefin copolymer fraction, and wherein said ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer composition has a density in the range of 0.910 to 0.924 g/cm3, a melt index (I2) in the range of from 0.5 to 2 g/10 minutes, a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range of from 1.15 to 2.5, a molecular weight distribution, expressed as the ratio of the weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight (Mw/Mn) in the range of from 2.0 to 4.0, and tan delta at 0.1 radian/second and 190° C. in the range of from 6 to 43.
