An epoxy resin composition useful as a matrix for fiber-reinforced composites is disclosed which includes a mixture containing 30-95% by weight of a tetrafunctional epoxy resin, 3-40% by weight of an admixture of trifunctional epoxy resin oligomers and 2-50% by weight of a bisphenol A epoxy resin having a number average molecular weight of 450-1,300 and such a weight average molecular weight as to provide a ratio of the weight average molecular weight to the number average molecular weight of 1.3-3.0.

A page turning effect generating apparatus for video signals is provided with a memory for storing a video signal, an output switch for switching incoming video signal and a memory output video signal in accordance with a switching control signal, and a control signal generator including a circuit for generating the switching control signal and a circuit for generating a read address to be supplied to the memory, wherein the read address generating circuit includes a convertor for non-linearly converting a first vector which represents one of the vector components of a vector expressing a scanning point of a display image from an origin of a modification, and a generator for generating a final vector by synthesizing the non-linearly converted first vector and a second vector which represents another of the vector components of the vector, the final vector indicating the read address to be supplied to the memory.

An optical recording medium includes at least a substrate and a recording layer formed on the substrate, said recording layer being irradiated with an energy beam to change the optical properties thereof by directly or indirectly generated heat, thereby recording information, wherein said recording layer comprises four elements of tellurium (Te), germanium (Ge), gallium (Ga) and bismuth (Bi) and has a composition represented by the following formula:(Te.sub.x Ge.sub.1-x).sub.1-y (Ga.sub.z Bi.sub.1-z).sub.ywherein0.40.ltoreq.x.ltoreq.0.750.02.ltoreq.y.ltoreq.0.30 and0.05.ltoreq.z.ltoreq.0.50,x is the molar fraction of Te in Te-Ge, y is the molar fraction of the total amount of Bi and Ga in the recording layer, and z is the molar fraction of Ga in Ga-Bi. The optical recording medium of the present invention exhibits excellent CNR and recording sensitivity, no significant noise, a large amplitude of read-out signal, no significant jitter fluctuation excellent capability for high-speed and high-density recording, excellent life of media and resistance to moisture-and-heat, and high reliability.

A recording medium playing apparatus comprises a reading device for reading, from an information recording medium on which a sub-program signal carrying a musical instrument play control signal is written in order together with a main program signal, the main program signal and the sub-program signal simultaneously according to an order of writing, a musical instrument play control signal decoding device for decoding a musical instrument play control signal from the sub-program signal and supplying the musical instrument play control signal to electronic musical instruments, and a control device for controlling the operation of the reading device in response to an operational command. The control device is adapted to command the musical instrument play control signal decoding device to transmit a sound generation stop command signal when the content of the operational command is to cause the reading device to perform a reading operation in which the order of reading is different from the order of writing.

Disclosed are a block-graft copolymer comprising a polymer block having a repetitive unit represented by General Formula: ##STR1## wherein A represents an organopolysiloxane chain, a polyalkylene oxide chain, a polyalkylene-imine chain, a polyacrylate chain or a polyacryloyl chain,and a process for producing the same. This block-graft copolymer can have various performances such as an oxygen enrichment performance, an ion concentration property, a capability of forming a complex with a metal salt and a biocompatibility, depending on the kind of graft polymer chains.

An electrostatic chuck for holding a work by electrostatic forces, which has an electrostatic attraction body for attracting the work, an electrostatic conductive support body for supporting the electrostatic attraction body, channels for passing cooling medium therethrough and cover means for covering the exposed surfaces of the support body except a portion thereof over which the work is placed. This chuck can not only prevent impure matters from generating from the surfaces of the support body but also prevent damages due to heat.

An improved cast ingot of aluminum alloy satisfactorily available for rolling operation containing Fe is disclosed which has no fir-tree structure or has only a very small region of fir-tree structure. This cast ingot of aluminum alloy contains calcium in the range of 0.0005 to 0.05% and has a grain size smaller than 150 microns in the region extended inward of a coarse cell phase on the surface area of the cast ingot, particularly in the vicinity of said coarse cell phase. The cast ingot is manufactured by way of the steps of addition of the above amount of calcium to molten aluminum alloy, supplementary addition of 0.005 to 0.1% Ti and 0.0001 to 0.02% B to the molten aluminum alloy and then continuous D.C. casting.

A wet process phosphoric acid obtained by an solvent extraction method with n-butanol and/or isobutanol comprises(a) feeding a wet process phosphoric acid having a concentration of P.sub.2 O.sub.5 of higher than 35 wt. % into an extraction battery;(b) adding sulfuric acid into a stage in fifth or higher stage from the step of discharging an extracted solution and in second or higher stage from the step of discharging raffinate in the extraction battery at a gram equivalent ratio given by subtracting the amount of sulfuric acid in the wet process phosphoric acid fed into the extraction battery from 1.2 to 2.0 times of the sum of total cation impurities in the wet process phosphoric acid fed into the extraction battery and total components of sodium, potassium and magnesium added to the purification battery;(c) discharging said extracted solution having a concentration of H.sub.3 PO.sub.4 of 130 to 180 g./liter from said extraction battery;(d) adding at least one of the compounds of sodium, potassium and magnesium in second or higher stage from the step of discharging the solvent phase and in second or higher stage from the step of discharging the aqueous phase in the purification battery to give more than 0.4 equivalent per liter of the concentration of sodium, potassium and magnesium in the aqueous phase in the stage where at least one of alkali metal and magnesium compounds is added in the same battery.

The reduction of nitrogen oxides involves the passage of gases containing nitrogen oxides at higher than 500.degree. C. over a catalyst comprising cerium oxide and nickel oxide in the CeO.sub.2 /NiO molar ratio of about 0.05 : 1 to 2.5 : 1 and when desired an addition thereto of rhodium in an amount of from about 7.5 to 25 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the nickel oxide and cerium oxide composition and when desired an addition to said nickel oxide and cerium oxide composition of ruthenium in an amount of about 10 to 50 parts by weight or an addition to said composition containing rhodium of ruthenium in an amount of about 15 to 50 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the nickel oxide and cerium oxide composition. Also, when desired, an addition to said composition of one or more metal sulfides and an addition to said composition of one or more metal oxides is utilized.

A chemically amplified negative resist composition comprises a polymer comprising recurring hydroxystyrene units and recurring styrene units having electron withdrawing groups substituted thereon. In forming a pattern having a fine feature size of less than 0.1 μm, the composition exhibits a high resolution in that a resist coating formed from the composition can be processed into such a fine size pattern while the formation of bridges between pattern features is minimized.
