Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device with portions of the device on plural substrate surfaces. The device includes a low resistivity substrate having first and second surfaces with a first electrically-conductive device component disposed over a first surface. An intermediate electrically-insulating layer may be disposed between the electrically-conductive component and the low resistivity substrate. A second electrically-conductive component is disposed over the second surface of the low resistivity substrate. A cavity formed in the low resistivity substrate is at least partially filled with a high resistivity material. One or more electrically-conducting pathways are formed in the high resistivity material electrically connecting the first electrically conductive component and the second electrically-conductive component to form a device. Exemplary devices include inductors, capacitors, antennas and active or passive devices incorporating such devices. Vertically integrated device systems can be formed using the device.

Abstract:
A novel domain adaption/transfer learning method applied to the problem of classifying abbreviated documents, e.g., short text messages, instant messages, tweets. The method uses a large number of multi-labeled examples (source domain) to improve the learning on the partial observations (target domain). Specifically, a hidden, higher-level abstraction space is learned that is meaningful for the multi-labeled examples in the source domain. This is done by simultaneously minimizing the document reconstruction error and the error in a classification model learned in the hidden space using known labels from the source domain. The partial observations in the target space are then mapped to the same hidden space, and classified into the label space determined by the source domain.
Abstract:
A chromatographic method including chromatographically separating sample ionic species in an eluent stream, detecting the separated sample ionic species, catalytically combining hydrogen and oxygen gases or catalytically decomposing hydrogen peroxide in a catalytic gas elimination chamber, and recycling the effluent stream from the chamber to the chromatography separation column. The residence time between the detector and the chamber is at least about one minute. Also, flowing the recycle sequentially through two detector effluent flow channels of an electrolytic membrane suppressor. Also, applying heat or UV energy between the detector and the chamber. Also, detecting bubbles after the chamber. Also, a Platinum group metal catalyst and ion exchange medium in the chamber. Apparatus for performing the methods.
Abstract:
A computing system receives input data having both graph and unstructured data and computes a current log likelihood of the input data. The computing system compares the current log likelihood with a previous log likelihood of the input data. If the current log likelihood is larger than the previous log likelihood, the computing system update topic modeling parameters, community modeling parameters, and the link generation parameter until the computing system obtains a maximal value of the log likelihood of the input data. Then, the computing system creates a graph indicating topic similarity between the input data based on the topic modeling parameters, creates another graph indicating community similarity between entities associated with the input data based on the community modeling parameters, and predicts a link existence between input data or entities based on the link generation parameter, the topic modeling parameter and the community modeling parameter.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention relate to modeling communities associated with groups of data items. Tools are provided to iteratively assign data items to communities and to update topic and participant distribution in the assigned communities. As the distributions are updated, the characteristics of the communities are updated. Each activity area is defined from the perspective of a single user. Participants in a community are connected to a user, but not necessarily to each other. The combination of formations of communities and the statistical aspect of evaluating characteristics of the communities provides a multi-facetted organization of connections between data items and associated participants.
Abstract:
A system and associated method are provided for lifting tower-top components from ground level to atop a wind turbine tower. A platform assembly is configured at least partially around a base of the wind turbine tower. Lifting cables are connected to the platform assembly and run to the top of the wind turbine tower and back down to ground. The platform assembly has a forward loading portion configured for securement of a tower-top component intended to be lifted to atop the wind turbine tower, wherein the platform assembly is engaged around the wind turbine tower and lifted by the cables to a position adjacent the top of the wind turbine tower for transfer of the tower-top component.
Abstract:
A liquid collection process with secondary channels for in-situ leaching an ore body to extract rare earth elements, including: 1) multiple liquid collection channels are provided in an ore body; 2) secondary channels are provided on both sides of the liquid collection channels, and all of the channels jointly constitute a multi-channel mother liquid drainage and collection control network; 3) a blocking wall is provided in the liquid collection channels, the front lower part of the wall is connected to a channel outlet by a conduit which is controlled with a ball valve switch at the outlet; 4) in the measurement and production, a multi-channel mother liquid collection network of liquid collection engineering control system is finally formed through the alternate operation of pressure release and increase; 5) the rare earth recovery rate is finally improved by adjusting the non-mineral liquid and the loss ratio of the mother liquid.
Abstract:
A liquid injection process for in-situ leaching and extracting an ion-adsorption type rare earth including: setting up a liquid injection network having liquid injection shallow wells and liquid injection deep wells, inputting a leaching agent into the injection shallow wells, then inputting the leaching agent into the deep wells, and finally inputting a pushing water into all of the wells. This process is characterized by a high rare earth mineral-leaching rate, a high mother liquid concentration, a small residue of the mother liquid of the ore earth, a small unit consumption of the leaching agent, simple operation, wide application, and outstanding environmental protection effect. Additionally, the process also can cancel any blind area in mineral leaching, increase stability of side slope in the liquid injection process, and control a flow direction, a flow rate of the leaching agent, and a liquid injection intensity.
