Abstract:
A wall board assembly and fastening system is provided. The wall board assembly has a first wall board having a tongue on at least one edge thereof. A second wall board is provided having a groove on at least one edge thereof for matingly receiving the tongue of the first wall board. A first opening is provided in at least one of the first and second wall boards having a fastener inserted therein that permits movement. A second opening is also provided in at least one of the first and second wall boards. The second opening has a fastener inserted therein that provides a stationary attachment of the wall board. As a result, the wall board assembly is fixed at a stationary point, but has a tolerance or range of movement about the fastener permitting movement. A method of assembling a wall board assembly using the foregoing is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A rail type fixing apparatus for installing panels includes a rail 120 having an elongate shape and a plurality of attachment panels 30 inserted into the rail so that they can be moved. The rail 120 has a lower surface 120a, a top surface 120b on which the panels are placed, and a guide groove 121 spaced a little apart from the inside bottom in the longitudinal direction. The attachment panel 30 is provided with a guide panel 31 extended from the bottom edges thereof so that it is guided by the guide groove 121 to move in the longitudinal direction of the rail 120, and a hook projection 132 formed protruding and perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal direction from the top surface, the hook projection hooked with and maintained to a first hook groove 4 of the panel 1 and a second hook groove 7 of the other panel 1. An attachment panel 30 and an adjacent attachment panel 30 are applied of the tension restoring force by the elastic member so that the both hook projections 132 close to each other.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a locking system for mechanical joining of floorboards (1) constructed from a body (30), a rear balancing layer (34), and an upper surface layer (32). A strip (6), which is integrally formed with the body (30) of the floorboard and which projects from a joint plane (F) and under an adjoining board (1), has a locking element (8) which engages a locking groove (14) in the rear side of the adjoining board. The joint edge provided with the strip (6) is modified with respect to the balancing layer (34), for example by means of machining of the balancing layer under the strip (6), in order to prevent deflection of the strip (6) caused by changes in relative humidity. The invention also relates to a floorboard provided with such a locking system, as well as a method for making floorboards with such a locking system.
Abstract:
The invention concerns hard panels for floor coverings, which are provided, at least on two opposite edges, with coupling devices made in one piece with the panels wherein similar panels may be coupled together to form a floor covering, wherein these coupling devices provide for an interlocking in a direction perpendicular to the plane of coupled panels, as well as in a direction perpendicular to the edges concerned and parallel to the plane of coupled panels. These coupling devices comprise a tongue and a groove. A lip may be situated on the bottom side of the groove may be longer than a lip located on the top side of the groove. The edge which is provided with the tongue is made elastically flexible.
Abstract:
A two-ply flooring plank is disclosed having two layers or nullpliesnull with a bottom layer having a grain that runs generally transverse to a top layer or nullcross-plynull to provide dimensional stability to the plank. The bottom layer includes a number of strips secured to the bottom of the top layer. The bottom layer strips are also placed with gaps between the individual strips of the second layer to allow flexibility of the flooring plank, which allows the flooring to more easily conform to irregularities in a subfloor upon which the flooring plank is mounted.
Abstract:
The invention relates to wood-product components (1, 2) which are provided, along their longitudinal edges (7) with matching projections and/or recesses by which they are joined together, wherein two recesses in the form of grooves are provided in the underside (15) of each component (1, 2), for accommodating retaining elements (10, 12) of at least one clip (11) arranged under the components (1, 2); wherein the retaining elements (10, 12) extend upward from the clip base body (17); wherein one of the two retaining elements (10) can be engaged with an edge-proximate inside surface (13) of a recess (8, 9′) of one component (1), and the other retaining element (12) can be engaged with an edge-proximate inside surface (20) of a recess (8′, 9) of the adjoining component (2), and wherein one of the retaining elements (10) is a flange element extending upward. According to the invention, the components are characterized in that the other retaining element, adapted to engage in the recess (8′, 9) of the adjoining component (2), is formed by a resilient detent (12) which in unstressed position extends upward from the clip base (17) in the direction obliquely to the plane defined by the edges (7) of components (1, 2).
Abstract:
A wooden flooring strip having a wooden flooring strip, comprising a top surface and a base surface opposed to the top surface, the top surface and the base surface defining between them a predetermined thickness wood flooring material. The predetermined thickness wood flooring material includes a top surface zone adjacent the top surface and a base surface zone adjacent the base surface. The base surface zone has longitudinally-extending wood fibers which have been broken to an extent sufficient to relieve tension on the base surface and thereby increase the flexibility of the flooring strip for more closely adhering to a sub-floor. The top surface zone has longitudinally-extending wood fibers which have been broken to an extent sufficient to relieve tension on the top surface of the flooring strip and to equalize tension on the wood fibers adjacent both the top surface and base surface of the flooring strip.
Abstract:
A flooring product for application to a subfloor which includes a wooden flooring component for installation with like flooring components to form a floor. The flooring component has a top surface for being exposed after installation and a base surface, a pressure-sensitive adhesive carried on a foam tape applied and permanently adhered directly to the base surface of the flooring component for providing an attachment interface surface for adhering the flooring component to the subfloor, and a protective release cover applied and releasably adhered to the attachment interface surface of the adhesive to protect the adhesive until removal of the release cover when the flooring component is applied to the subfloor.
Abstract:
A panel with a detachable protruding lip for wall, ceiling or floor coverings is provided. Furthermore, methods are provided for manufacturing wall, ceiling or floor coverings comprising or consisting of a plurality of the panels.
