Abstract: Some embodiments include a method of providing substantially uninterrupted gas service by coupling at least one gas cylinder to a portable tanking assembly. The tanking assembly can include a cart including a rear frame and a coupled carrier frame supported on an axle with wheels. In some embodiments, the carrier frame can include a caged regulation assembly housing at least a portion of a regulation apparatus with an upstream supply end coupled to a downstream delivery end. In some embodiments, the regulation apparatus includes a primary regulator coupled a one relief valve. The relief valve can be coupled to a downstream regulator, coupled to a water column gauge. In some embodiments, the regulation apparatus further includes a delivery valve. In some embodiments, the delivery valve comprises a distribution manifold assembly including a manifold and a plurality of distribution couplers coupled to the manifold.

Abstract: The invention relates to a high-pressure container comprising a thin-walled, cylindrical metal liner (1) having bases (8) on the end sections and an outer stable jacket (2) that surrounds the liner (1). At least one of the bases (8) of the liner (1) has a slight convex curvature towards the interior of the liner (1). Abstract: An aerosol container (10) dispenses a fluid product under pressure. A pressure relief mechanism (30) vents the container in a controlled manner when the container is subjected to excessive pressure so to prevent the container from bursting. The container has a container body (12) of a hollow, generally cylindrical shape. Pressurized contents of the container are expelled through a valve assembly (18) installed at one end of the container. An end piece (22) attached to the container body at the other end of the container has a first circular shaped section (26) surrounded by a ring shaped outer section (28). The pressure relief mechanism comprises U-shaped score lines (32) formed across the transition between the two sections of the end piece. These score lines create lines of weakness in the material from which the end piece is made for the end piece to fracture along the score lines when the pressure within the container exceeds a predetermined pressure level. This allows the container to vent a controlled manner rather than burst.

Abstract: A high-efficiency liquid oxygen (LOX) storage/delivery system utilizes a portable LOX/delivery apparatus with a portable LOX container. A portable-unit LOX transfer connector is connected to the portable LOX container and is connectable to a main source of LOX in a primary reservoir LOX container. A portable-unit oxygen gas transfer connector is provided for transferring oxygen gas from the portable LOX container to an oxygen gas delivery device for delivering oxygen gas to a patient. An inter-unit oxygen gas transfer connector also is provided for connecting the portable apparatus to a stationary source of oxygen gas in the primary reservoir container, for transferring oxygen gas to the portable apparatus. A portable-unit primary relief valve is connected to the portable LOX container for venting oxygen gas out of the portable LOX container when pressure in the portable LOX container reaches a predetermined level.

Abstract: A gas capsule comprises a hollow body portion (1) and a cap (2) including a stem (3) providing a filling orifice (3A). Prior to assembly of the body portion (1) and the cap (2) a stopper member (4) is inserted loosely within the capsule. During filling of the capsule with gas, the stopper member (4) is located within the body of the capsule and, prior to release of the gas pressure at the orifice (3A) of the capsule, the stopper member is moved to obstruct the path of gas from the capsule, for example by inverting the capsule so that the stopper member falis under gravity into a position between the body of the capsule (1) and the filling orifice (3A). The gas pressure is then released so that the stopper member (4) is forced into the stem (3) under the pressure of the gas to form a gas tight seal closing the orifice (3A). The orifice (3A) may then be welded to form a permanent closure.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for charging a gas storage and dispensing vessel with gas to a predetermined pressure level, e.g., a gas to be employed in a semiconductor manufacturing operation such as a hydride, halide or organometallic reagent gas. In the gas charging, a source gas is liquefied, e.g., in a cryotrap, and then gasified in closed flow communication with the vessel to introduce the gas thereinto, and such liquefaction/gasification steps are carried out alternatively and repetitively, to charge the vessel in a step-wise, progressive fashion with gas, until a full fill state is achieved, with the contained gas at the predetermined pressure level.
