Abstract:
Communication-identifier-assigned image data is transmitted via a set channel using the same as a communication identifier set for each image transmitter and a channel set in transmission. Then, a receiver which has received a plurality of image data items stores the received image data items, communication identifiers, and channels in such a manner that the received image data items are related to the communication identifiers and channels. Thumbnailed images in each image data item are displayed on one screen. When an image is selected from the thumbnailed images, an image transmitter that has transmitted the image is determined on the basis of the communication identifier and channel related to the selected image and is connected exclusively to the receiver. Images acquired from this time on are enlarged and displayed chronologically on a display section. The image transmitter and receiver constitute a wireless communication system.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus displays on a display a first interactive screen that guides a user to configure automatic sender designation information when setting information stored in a memory indicates that the automatic sender designation information is not configured, and updates the setting information to indicate that the automatic sender designation information is configured in response to configuration of the automatic sender designation information by a user through the first interactive screen so as to prevent display of the first interactive screen when the image processing apparatus is tuned on for the next time.
Abstract:
A system for performing a medical procedure on a patient is provided. The system can include an imaging head defining a field of view relative to the patient. The imaging head can include at least one transmitter that emits at least one signal in the field of view, and at least one receiver that receives at least one reflected signal from the field of view. The at least one reflected signal received can be based on at least one electrical property of at least one material in the field of view. The system can further include a workstation, which can determine, based on the at least one reflected signal received by the at least one receiver, a location of at least one boundary of the material within the field of view. The system can include a display that displays an image of the location of the at least one boundary.
Abstract:
A medical image and data application service provider system provides a way of remotely viewing and manipulating medical images and data for diagnostic and visualization purposes by users unconstrained by geography. Medical images and data are stored on one or more servers running application service provider software along with meta-data such as access control information, origin of information and references to related data. A set of medical data consisting related information is sent as an encrypted stream to a viewing station running client software in a secure execution environment that is logically independent of the viewing station's operating system.

Abstract:
Methods and apparatus are described for retrieving information from a storage medium. A first portion of the surface of the storage medium is exposed to stimulating light which diffuses in the storage medium under a second portion of the surface adjacent the first portion. The second portion of the surface is shielded from exposure to the stimulating light. Stimulated light corresponding to the information is received with at least one detector positioned to receive the stimulated light via the second portion of the surface of the storage medium. The stimulated light is released from the storage medium in response to the stimulating light diffused under the second portion of the surface.
Abstract:
A scanning apparatus includes a sample stage that faces an optical scanning head or stage at a scanning plane; a first actuator that translates the sample stage or the optical stage along a first axis that is substantially parallel to the scanning plane; a sensor that senses the deviation from the first axis; and a controller coupled to the first actuator, the sensor, and the optical stage. The controller is programmed to operate the first actuator and the optical stage to acquire a scan of a sample at the sample stage; and modify the scan to compensate for a deviation from the first axis in translation of the sample stage or the optical stage along the first axis by the first actuator. Also included are methods of modifying scans to compensate for translation deviations.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for reading out at least one especially flexible imaging plate. The readout device comprises a reader for reading out information stored on the imaging plate, and a transport device having at least one drive means for transporting the imaging plate relative to the reader along a guide means on the transport path. The shape of the transport path is adapted to the shape of a readout area of the reader. At least one substantially solid support for the imaging plate is provided. The shape and dimension of the support are adapted to the shape of the transport path. When the imaging plate is transported together with the support, the imaging plate does not come into contact with the drive means. The invention also relates to the support for the imaging plate.
Abstract:
A separable-type endoscope imaging system includes a first body portion, a flexible hollow detection tube, and a second body portion. The first body portion includes an output terminal and a wireless transmitter unit. The flexible hollow detection tube is located at one end of the first body portion and internally provided with a lens assembly for generating an image signal. The second body portion includes an input terminal, a wireless receiver unit, and a display unit. When the output terminal is electrically connected to the input terminal, the image signal is transmitted via the output terminal and the input terminal to the display unit for displaying. On the other hand, when the output terminal is not electrically connected to the input terminal, the image signal is wirelessly transmitted from the wireless transmitter unit to the wireless receiver unit for displaying on the display unit.
Abstract:
A system comprising a facsimile device configured to transmit a code-associated information material, an interactive user device, and a processor. Typically, the code-associated information material is a medical record to which a barcoded fax cover sheet is appended. The interactive device is preferably a computer terminal, wherein the processor is coupled to the interactive user device via the Internet. The processor is configured to receive from the facsimile device a transmission of the information material, and to display it to an authorized user upon a request from the authorized user. The information material may be displayed via Internet, or else may be faxed to an authorized user in response to a telephone call.
