Abstract: A gas feeder for feeding a gas is disclosed. The gas feeder comprises a bubbler holding a source liquid and passing a carrier gas through the liquid, a first sensor provided upstream of the bubbler, sensing the volumetric flow of the carrier gas and producing a carrier gas flow signal, a second sensor provided downstream of the bubbler, sensing the volumetric flow of the mixture and producing a gas mixture flow signal, a valve provided downstream of the bubbler and controlling the volumetric flow of the mixture, and a computer. The computer computes the concentration of the source gas from the carrier gas flow signal and the gas mixture flow signal and estimates the mass flow of the source gas from a product of the computed concentration of the source gas and the volumetric flow of the carrier gas. The computer controls the valve in response to a difference from a predetermined mass flow and the estimated mass flow of the source gas to fix the mass flow of the source gas fed to a destination to the predetermined mass flow. The gas feeder accurately feedback controls an actual mass flow of the source gas to the fixed value without a substantial delay and is applicable to a chemical vapor deposition of single crystal layer.

Abstract: A reagent feeder which can to be used in both a finger-push system and a slide system by only attaching and detaching a simple auxiliary component to and from a case body depending on the state of operation or a preference of the operator. The feeder includes a case body, a sphere discharge port and a discharge device, so as to discharge a sphere one by one by pushing down the discharge device. The discharge device is provided with an operation lever which extends out of the case body and can be pushed down by a finger. A slide cover surrounding an outer periphery of the case body is attached to the case body in such a way that it can be moved freely in a vertical direction and can be detached from the case body. The slide cover is engaged with the operation lever of the discharge device so that it can be moved integrally with the discharge device.

Abstract: A metering apparatus for the metered delivery of flowable or fluent material masses comprises a drum member rotatable about a substantially horizontal lengthwise axis. A cylindrical shell of such drum member contains a multiplicity of openings. A cell wheel is rotatably arranged within the drum member. The lengthwise axis of the cell wheel and the lengthwise axis of the drum member are arranged parallel and eccentric to one another and, optionally, these lengthwise axes can be moved relative to one another. Beneath the drum member there is arranged a transport device for receiving metered portions of the material mass. Abstract: A release agent management system incorporated in an electrophotographic printing machine having a heat and pressure fuser assembly. The fuser assembly includes a heated fuser roll, a pressure roll and a wick for applying fuser oil to the surface of the heated fuser roll. The wick is moved into and out of engagement with the fuser roll and release agent material is supplied to the wick in accordance with the number of prints fused from which a print equivalency value is calculated. Abstract: A laminated plate structure including conduit and regent delivery means for a fluid delivery system is provided to deliver precise volumes of a plurality of fluids in sequence to a treatment reservoir. Fluid channels are formed in the plate structure to provide a means for delivering fluids from a plurality of fluid reservoirs attached to the plate structure to one or a plurality of treatment reservoirs attached to the plate structure. Each fluid is delivered by a system comprising a fluid reservoir, an inlet valve in fluid communication with the fluid reservoir, a positive displacement pump in fluid communication with the inlet valve and an outlet valve in fluid communication with the positive displacement pump all of which are attached to the plate structure. The means for delivering fluid and the fluid reservoirs are positioned on opposing surfaces of the plate structure. The plate structure is provided with vent holes for venting vapors that may be produced during formation of the plate structure.

Abstract: A system for delivering measured amounts of liquid, such as reagents used in chromatography. Liquid is first moved under gas pressure from a reservoir, such as a reagent bottle, through a valve into a narrow pipe. It reaches a detector which, detecting its presence, closes the valve thus trapping an amount of liquid between the valve and the detector, this amount of liquid then constituting a `unit` or `pulse` of liquid. The movement of the valve is used to connect a gas supply which drives the `unit` or `pulse` out of the pipe to an ultimate destination, such as a chromatographic column. A further `unit` or `pulse` can then be moved into the pipe and this repeated so that delivery to the destination is made in a series of such `units` or `pulse`. By timing the delivery of one `unit` or `pulse`, an amount less than one `unit` or `pulse` can be delivered by passing liquid into the pipe for less than the time taken to deliver one `unit`. This can be used to make up a delivery which is not a unitary multiple of one `unit` or to deliver a small amount of less than one `unit`. No moving parts are involved and delivery of accurately measured amounts is achieved.
