    Abstract: A powered actuator assembly for a closure member of a motor vehicle includes an electric actuator, a leadscrew extending along a leadscrew axis between opposite leadscrew ends, the leadscrew being configured in operable communication with the electric motor for rotation in opposite directions about the leadscrew axis in response to the electric motor being energized, and a nut assembly configured for translation along the leadscrew in response to rotation of the leadscrew. The nut assembly has a nut with a through opening in threaded engagement with the leadscrew and a housing disposed about the nut. A push/pull rod has a first end coupled to the housing of the nut assembly and a second end configured to be coupled to a body of the motor vehicle, wherein the housing and the nut of the nut assembly can move relative to one another.

    Abstract: A vehicle headlight has a segmented light guide device in which segments are selectively controlled to operate in an output state that reduces glare to oncoming vehicle drivers. Vehicle sensors and controller circuitry are used to identify areas of glare removal in the light pattern of the headlight and control the corresponding segments in the light guide device to operate in a selected light output state that reduces glare. The segments can be operated in a focused output state for vehicle driver visibility, or in a scattered output state to reduce glare. The segments can be operated in a clear or transparent output state for vehicle driver visibility, or in a reflected output state to reduce glare. Reflected light can optionally be re-directed. The light guide device can employ bi-stable liquid crystal shuttering or liquid crystal switchable mirror technology.

    Abstract: A door system, presenter assembly and method for controlling movement of a motor vehicle closure panel between a closed position, a presented position and an open position are provided. Presenter assembly includes an electric motor having a drive shaft that extends along a drive shaft axis. A clutch assembly has an engaged state when electric motor is energized and a disengaged state when electric motor is de-energized. A presenter unit has a presenter lead screw and an extensible member configured for movement between a retracted position corresponding to the closed position and an extended position corresponding to the presented position. Extensible member is biased toward the retracted position by a presenter biasing member. Presenter lead screw is rotatably driven by the output member when electric motor is energized and when clutch assembly is in the engaged state to move the extensible member against the bias of the presenter biasing member to the extended position. Extensible member is automatically biased from the extended position to the retracted position by the presenter biasing member when the electric motor is de-energized and when the clutch assembly is in the disengaged state.

    Abstract: A hinge based counterbalance mechanism for operating a hinge of a closure panel of a vehicle to assist in opening and closing of the closure panel between a closed position and an open position about a pivot axis, the hinge drive mechanism including: a hinge having a body side portion for connecting to a body of the vehicle and a panel side portion for connecting to the closure panel, the body side portion and the panel side portion coupled via the pivot axis; a torsion element having a fixed end coupled to the body and a free end coupled to the body side portion, the fixed end inhibited from rotating relative to the free end and the free end able to rotate about a torsion axis of the torsion element; and a mechanical coupling mechanism coupling the free end to the panel side portion, the mechanical coupling mechanism providing for variability in torque output of the torsion element applied from the torsion element to the panel side portion as the hinge moves between the open position and the closed position.

    Abstract: A power latch and presenter assembly for latching and releasing a closure panel and for moving the closure panel from a closed position to a presented position includes a ratchet moveable between a striker capture position and a striker release position. A pawl is configured for movement between a ratchet holding position, whereat the pawl maintains the ratchet in the striker capture position and a ratchet releasing position.     Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a closure latch assembly and system for a vehicle closure panel equipped with a latch mechanism having a latched position and an unlatched position and a power release mechanism moveable between home position, a release position and a double pull position and/or a child lock position, wherein a motor is operable to move the power release mechanism from the home position to the release position and from the home position to the double pull position and/or the child lock position, and wherein an emergency backup mechanism in mechanically coupled communication with the latch mechanism can be mechanically actuated from a non-deployed position to a deployed position to move a pawl from a ratchet holding position to a ratchet releasing position regardless of the position of the power release mechanism, wherein the emergency backup mechanism is prevented from generating rattling noise while in the non-deployed position.
