Abstract: A Handle and Firing Mechanism Assembly (H&FMA) provides a robust and streamlined H&FMA for a mortar weapon system. The H&FMA is easier to assemble and eliminates jamming issues, and firing pin protrusion adjustment procedures. It also incorporates a lighter trigger squeeze in Trigger fire mode and locks the firing pin in Drop fire mode. The handle is easier and more cost effective to produce. The H&FMA can be used with, for example, a 60 mm mortar weapon system.

Abstract: A counter momentum generator is employed on a weapon system to manage horizontal recoil momentum of the weapon system. The counter momentum generator generates a counter momentum which that is not parallel to the recoil momentum. A horizontal component of the counter momentum negates a portion of the horizontal recoil momentum. A vertical component of the counter momentum combines with the vertical recoil momentum to aid in compression between the base of the weapon system and the ground.

The rifle further comprising a barrel chamber which fully supports a chambered cartridge case and a rear extraction mechanism for extracting a spent cartridge case through the rear of the barrel chamber.

Abstract: One example is test system for testing the propulsion system(s) of vehicles. The test system includes a retention fixture, a linking device, a test logic, a measurement device and a result logic. The retention fixture is for rigidly mounting first and second vehicles to the retention fixture. The linking device links propulsion systems of the first and second vehicles so that the propulsion systems operate a different rates. The test logic subjects the second vehicle's propulsion system to a propulsion test. The measurement device measures at least one parameter associated with the propulsion system of the first vehicle while the first vehicle is subjected to the propulsion test. The result logic determines if the first vehicle under test passed the propulsion test based, in part, on the at least one parameter and generates an indication if the first vehicle passed or failed the propulsion test.

The method includes the use of a mandrel having a tubular body and being made of a material with properties suited to use with gun barrel manufacture and materials and cold spray processes. The gun barrel includes a liner, one or more structural layers and an outer jacket. The mandrel is dissolved in a chemical process during manufacture of the gun barrel.
