Abstract:
The present application discloses an axial operator that is configured for use with a door assembly. The axial operator comprises a rotatable operator output member that rotates about an operator axis, the operator output member being constructed and arranged to be operatively connected within the door assembly such that the operator output axis extends generally vertically. An electric motor has a rotatable motor output member that rotates about the operator axis. The motor is constructed and arranged to selectively rotate the motor output member about the operator axis. A reduction transmission is connected between the motor output member and the operator output member. The reduction transmission is constructed and arranged such that the transmission rotates the operator output member at a lower rotational speed than a rotational speed at which the motor rotates the motor output member and applies a higher torque to the operator output member than a torque which the motor applies to the motor output member. The reduction transmission comprises (a) an orbit gear, (b) a planet gear carrier, and (c) a planet gear. The motor is adapted to be communicated to a controller so as to receive a door moving signal therefrom and being further adapted to selectively rotate the motor output member in response to receiving the door moving signal to thereby rotate the operator output member so as to move the door panel with respect to the doorway as aforesaid.
Abstract:
A roll screen cassette is provided for installation in a closure assembly which has a frame for moveably retaining a closure member. The frame includes a header, sill, and vertical jamb sections. At least one of the sections includes a pocket formed within its interior. The pocket having a first predetermined configuration defined by the interior of the section and for receipt of the roll screen. The roll screen including a pair of brackets from which said roll screen is pivotally supported. The pair of brackets having a second predetermined configuration compatible with the pocket of the frame section having the first predetermined configuration. The pair of brackets utilized for removeably retaining the roll screen within the pocket in use. The pair of brackets and roll screen being removeably held in position with respect to the frame only by the pocket having the first predetermined configuration and the pair of brackets having a second predetermined configuration compatible with the pocket and being located in the pocket in use. The compatible shapes of the pair of brackets and the pocket when installed in the frame section cooperate to prevent the pair of brackets from rotating with respect to the pocket and the frame when the roll screen is let out or taken up.

Abstract:
An articulation device for a hatchback mounted pivoting on a motor vehicle via a swivel rod. A structure is provided for automatically controlling the hatchback pivoting movement by a pivoting movement of a first end of a rod relative to the vehicle body structure. The hatchback pivoting direction, relative to the second end of the rod, is reversed during the first end of the rod pivoting movement between two extreme angular positions associated with extreme closed and opened positions of the hatchback.
Abstract:
A transmission for folding out the solar cell panels (3 through 7) folded in an accordion-like manner on a spacecraft (1) has cable pulleys (22 through 27) at the hinges (9 through 14), around pairs of which pulleys endless cables (29 through 33) are wound. To adapt its change in length during temperature changes to the change in the length of the panels (3 through 7) and to increase its rigidity to elongation, the cable (29 through 33) is provided with a plastic sheathing (47, 48) firmly connected to same outside the area of the cable pulleys (22 through 27).
Abstract:
A horizontal sliding door for a housing such as a cabinet. An axle rotatably mounted at the rear of the door projects into two identical tracks one at each side of the housing. Each track has a lower toothed rack and an upper stop surface facing the rack. A pinion slideably and non-rotatably mounted on each end of the axle engages the rack and is held there by an idler wheel slideably and rotatably mounted beside each pinion. A spacer sleeve near one end of the axle is removable, allowing one pinion and idler wheel to be slid inwardly, allowing removal of the door by passing that one end of the axle through a slot in one end of the track.
Abstract:
Apparatus for opening aligned sliding leaves of furniture, wherein the or each sliding leaf comprises, at its upper part, an upper track for receiving a first roller having a vertical axis and connected to a movable part of a slide guide fixedly secured to or integral with the furniture. The movable part is movable in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the leaf and is provided with an engagement member, such as a pin, coupled with a first pulley connected, by means of an inextensible, flexible element, to a second pulley in a lower part of the furniture. The second pulley is supported by a horizontal shaft extending across the width of the door leaf and is provided at its ends with a pair of arms, acting upon lateral trolleys supported by pairs of rollers sliding in guides rigidly secured to the furniture. The trolleys carry a U-section member in which run horizontal-axis second rollers and vertical-axis third rollers, rigidly connected to the door leaf by means of a lower support member. On the lower member are also mounted fourth rollers arranged, when the leaf is moved perpendicular to the plane and in a direction away from the furniture, to cooperate with a horizontal lower track mounted parallel to the front surface of the furniture.
Abstract:
A door coordinator for pairs of swinging doors comprising a pair of arms on a common hub pivotally mounted in a bracket on the door frame, a longer arm adapted to move vertically into and out of the path of an active door and a shorter arm provided with a cam surface supplemented or constituted by a roller so located that the inactive door engages the cam surface and/or the roller for controlling the vertical movement of the shorter arm relative to the inactive door and the simultaneous vertical movement of the longer arm into and out of the path of the active door.

Abstract:
Mechanism for unfolding series-connected, accordionlike folded structural elements, particularly for use in supporting large surface solar cells. The several sections to be folded and unfolded are connected by hinge structure including a torsion-bar tensioned when said parts are in a selected on of folded or unfolded conditions. In addition, force transmission means are arranged between panels which rotate in the same direction during movement in response to the urging of said tensioned torsion bars. These force transmission devices ensure that said arm sections will unfold (or fold) at predetermined ratios with respect to each other, regardless of the effectiveness of successive individual torsion bars and will further ensure predeterminable response by said arm sections, even if certain of said torsion bars are out of action. If desired, a power means can be applied to operate through said force transmission means for restoring the arm sections against the force of said torsion bars to said selected condition.
