Abstract: A wireless communication method and a system comprising a first audio source unit and at least a second audio source unit each comprising; a connection management interface for connecting to a network topology, a protocol management interface, a management link and a communication link, and during a configuration period the first audio source unit may be configured to listen for a notification packet via the management link, and, based on a first criteria, the first audio source unit may be configured to establish, via the protocol management interface, a communication group and a respective communication frame. Furthermore, where the first audio source unit may be a coordinator of the communication group, the coordinator may then be configured to establish notification packets in the communication frame, and the notification packets may then be transmitted via the management link assigned to a first time interval in the communication frame. During the configuration period, the second audio source unit may be configured to listen for a notification packet received? via the management link of the second audio source unit, the second audio source unit receives at least the notification packet and may be configured to extract, via a protocol management interface link, information of the management link of the coordinator from the received notification packet, and the second audio source unit may then be configured to transmit an ID information via the management link of the coordinator of the communication group, and where the coordinator may be configured to assign a second time interval for a communication link of the second audio source unit in the communication frame, the second audio source unit may then be configured to become an audio source member of that communication group. During a data communication period the second audio source member may be configured to communicate via the communication link of the audio source member at the second time interval in the communication frame to a sink unit.

Abstract: The present invention regards a hearing device comprising a power source, a control unit, a power source charge state monitoring unit, a timing unit, and an output unit. The hearing device is configured to be worn on or at an ear of a user. The power source is configured to power the hearing device. The power source charge state monitoring unit is configured to monitor the charge state of the power source by determining a current output voltage value of the power source. The timing unit is configured to measure a duration between two points in time. The output unit is configured to generate output sounds corresponding to electrical sound signals. The control unit is configured to activate a low-energy warning mode, if the current output voltage value determined by the power source charge state monitoring unit is below a predetermined threshold output voltage value of the power source. The control unit is further configured to adjust the predetermined threshold output voltage value in dependence of a duration of the low-energy warning mode. The control unit operating in the low-energy warning mode is configured to generate electrical low-energy warning signals. The output unit is configured to generate output stimuli perceived by the user as sounds corresponding to the electrical low-energy warning signals and/or to transmit such output sounds and/or signals indicating low energy warning signals to another device.

Abstract: A binaural hearing system comprising left and right hearing devices is provided, each comprising an input unit providing an electric input signal representing an environmental sound; a noise reduction system for estimating and reducing a noise component of the electric input signal; antenna and transceiver circuitry allowing the exchange of data between the hearing devices. The binaural hearing system is—in a mode of operation, where a sound source is predominantly audible at a first one of the hearing devices—configured to transmit the estimate of the noise component determined in a second one of the hearing devices to the first hearing device and to use said estimate to reduce the noise component in the electric signal of the first hearing device and to provide a noise reduced signal in the first hearing device. Thereby improved noise reduction is provided for use, e.g. in hearing aids, in non-symmetric acoustic situations.

Abstract: A hearing device, e.g. a hearing aid, is provided, comprising a forward path comprising an input transducer for providing an electric input signal, a signal processing unit configured to apply a requested forward gain to the electric input signal, and an output transducer. The hearing device further comprises a feedback reduction unit for reducing a risk of howl due to feedback from the output transducer to the input transducer. The forward path and the external feedback path defines a roundtrip loop delay. The feedback reduction unit is configured to modulate said requested forward gain in time, to provide that the resulting forward gain exhibits a first, increased gain AH in a first time period TH and a second, reduced gain AL in a second time period TL, wherein at least one of AH, AL, TH, and TL is/are determined according to a predetermined or adaptively determined criterion including said roundtrip loop delay.
