Abstract:
A dynamic pressure bearing device includes a dynamic pressure face of a shaft member, a dynamic pressure face of a bearing member, lubricating fluid filled in a bearing space of a dynamic pressure bearing portion including a gap between the dynamic pressure faces, a dynamic pressure generation means for pressing so that the lubricating fluid generates a dynamic pressure that supports the shaft member in a non-contact manner with the bearing member and in a rotatable manner relatively to the bearing member, and a sliding surface layer having abrasion resistance provided to at least one of the dynamic pressure face of the shaft member and the dynamic pressure face of the bearing member. The sliding surface layer is made up of a resin lubricating film in which many particles of solid lubricating material is dispersed, and a maximum diameter of the particles constituting the solid lubricating material included in the sliding surface layer is smaller than a minimum gap size of the bearing space of the dynamic pressure bearing portion.
Abstract:
A slide bearing is proposed which rotatably supports a rotary shaft of an impeller in a cooling water circulation pump mounted to a fuel cell. The slide bearing is formed of a synthetic resin containing no metal ions such as polyetherketone resin. This prevents impurities originating from the slide bearing from being dissolved into cooling water for the fuel cell.
Abstract:
A prosthetic joint has two load-bearing surfaces that are slidingly disposed relative to each other and define a region of frictional contact. The joint is thermally managed as heat is removed from the region of frictional contact during joint use by thermal conduction so that the surfaces are maintained approximately at or below specified temperatures. Embodiments of femoral ball members and acetabular cup members to be used in thermally managed prosthetic hip joints are provided.
Abstract:
The shaft and the bearing are capable of reducing vibration and noise of a motor. The shaft comprises: a shaft proper; and a sliding section provided to the shaft proper, the sliding section including carbon nano fibers or carbon nano tubes. On the other hand, the bearing comprises: a bearing proper; and a sliding section provided to the bearing proper, the sliding section including carbon nano fibers or carbon nano tubes.
Abstract:
A spherical bearing including a generally annular first portion having at least a partial substantially spherical outer surface and a generally annular second portion having at least a partial substantially concave surface, the outer surface at least partially engaging the concave surface, at least one of the outer surface and the concave surface having a plurality of frayed polytetraflouroethylene fibers exposed therefrom.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for the production of support materials, wherein a web of a metal support fabric is continuously provided with a sliding layer covering the support fabric on one side and predominately containing polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE). The support fabric is coated with a paste made of the material of the sliding layer and one side of said support fabric is guided in full contact with another web of material during the coating process.
Abstract:
A slide lining (9) for rack thruster (10) is dimensioned and shaped to come into contact with a steering rack (3) opposite to an operating pinion (4). The slide lining (9) is made of multi-layered material comprising a substrate layer intended to be bonded to a thruster body (8), an intermediate layer bonded to the substrate layer and an upper slide layer made of polymer composition with a low coefficient of friction. The intermediate layer forms raised structures which are distributed over the interface with the upper slide layer and are embedded in the said upper slide layer.
Abstract:
A bearing comprising a resin layer, a backing strip and an intermediate layer which bonds the resin layer and the backing strip to each other is disclosed. The bearing undergoes a force from the resin layer side. A corrosion preventing layer is formed on each side face of the bearing so as to cover the intermediate layer. The corrosion preventing layer prevents the intermediate layer from being corroded by gas contained in an atmosphere and lubricating oil which are present around the bearing.
Abstract:
A coating composition for use in sliding members contains a polyamideimide resin and a solid lubricant and is prepared by mixing these ingredients. The polyamideimide resin is a substance having a glass transition temperature of 270null C. or above or a substance having a tensile strength of 200 MPa or more at room temperature. The sliding film made of the coating composition for use in sliding members is provided with a satisfactory sliding property.
Abstract:
A bearing, plastic bearing material, and a method for the production thereof are described. The bearing comprises a continuous consolidated bearing material layer impregnated into a porous layer, which is in turn mounted on a backing material.
