    Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to an enhanced retry count for an uplink (UL) multi-user (MU) transmission. A device may identify a trigger frame received from a first device on a wireless communication channel. The device may determine a quality of service counter associated with an access category. The device may cause to send a frame to the first device based at least in part on the trigger frame. The device may determine an error condition associated with the frame. The device may refrain from incrementing the quality of service counter based on the error condition.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media for a common preamble for wireless local-area networks (WLANs). An apparatus of an access point (AP) or station (STA) comprising processing circuitry configured to decode a portion of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), the first portion of the PPDU including a physical universal signal field (U-SIG), the U-SIG comprising a version independent portion and a version dependent portion, the version independent portion including a version identifier field, the version identifier field indicating a standard version of the PPDU. The processing circuitry is further configured to refrain from decoding the version dependent portion when the standard version indicates a standard version of a later generation than a standard version of the AP or STA, and otherwise decode the version dependent portion in accordance with the standard version.

    Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer readable media include an apparatus of an access point (AP) or station (STA) comprising processing circuitry configured to decode a legacy preamble of a physical layer (PHY) protocol data unit (PPDU), determine whether the legacy preamble comprises an indication that the PPDU is an extremely-high throughput (EHT) PPDU, and in response to the determination indicating the PPDU is the EHT PPDU, decode the EHT PPDU. Some embodiments determine a spatial stream resource allocation based on a row of a spatial configuration table, a row of a frequency resource unit table, a number of stations, and location of the station relative to the number of stations in user fields of an EHT-signal (SIG) field. To accommodate 16 spatial streams, some embodiments extend the length of the packet extension field, extend signaling of a number of spatial streams, and/or extend a number of EHT-SIG symbols.

    Abstract: Provided herein are apparatus and methods for improving transmission efficiency of video content for Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi). An apparatus for a Wi-Fi device comprises a Radio Frequency (RF) interface and processing circuitry coupled with the RF interface. The processing circuitry is to encode a Medium Access Control (MAC) frame, to carry video content to be transmitted to one or more other Wi-Fi devices connected with the Wi-Fi device; encapsulate the MAC frame into a physical (PHY) frame, the PHY frame is to include an additional byte in a high-efficiency signal-A (HE-SIG-A) field, to indicate whether the MAC frame is encoded as an original MAC frame including one Frame Check Sequence (FCS) or a video content specific MAC frame including more than one FCSs; and transmit the PHY frame, via the RF interface, to the one or more other Wi-Fi devices.

A device may establish a communication session with one or more NGV devices. The device may determine an NGV frame comprising a legacy signal field (L-SIG) and an NGV signal field. The device may determine a plurality of data subcarriers and a plurality of pilot subcarriers associated with the L-SIG, wherein the plurality of data subcarriers and the plurality of pilot subcarriers are surrounded by at least two additional subcarriers.
