Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques and apparatus for determining neural network functions (NNFs) and configuring and using corresponding machine learning (ML) models for performing one or more ML-based wireless communications management procedures. An example method performed by a user equipment includes transmitting, to a base station (BS), UE capability information indicating at least one radio capability of the UE and at least one machine learning (ML) capability of the UE and receiving, from the BS based on the UE capability information, ML configuration information indicating at least one neural network function (NNF) and at least one ML model corresponding to the at least one NNF.

A UE may receive a request from a network to report a UE capability for at least one of an AI procedure or an ML procedure. The UE may transmit to the network, based on the request to report the UE capability, an indication of one or more of an AI capability, an ML capability, a radio capability associated with the at least one of the AI procedure or the ML procedure, or a core network capability associated with the at least one of the AI procedure or the ML procedure.

Abstract: In an aspect, a network component (e.g., BS, server, etc.) obtains measurement information associated with uplink signal(s) from UE(s), with the uplink signal(s) having reciprocity with one or more downlink beams of wireless node(s) (e.g., TRP, reference UE, etc.). The network component determines (e.g., generates or refines) a meausrement (e.g., RFFP-P) model based on the measurement information. The network component provides the measurement (e.g., RFFP-P) model to a target UE. The target UE receives at least one signal (e.g., PRS) on the one or more downlink beams from the wireless node(s). The target UE processes the at least one signal (e.g., predicts target UE location) based at least in part on the measurement (e.g., RFFP-P) model.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining tone patterns and associated overlay codes for transmission of reference signals. A tone pattern (e.g., with each tone pattern occupying a resource element in a resource block) can be determined for a reference signal for use in wireless communications between a receiving device and a transmitting device. The tone pattern can include an irregular combination of resource elements in one or more resource blocks for the reference signal. The resource elements can be shared by a plurality of antennas for communication of one or more reference signals between at least the user equipment and the base station. An overlay code may be determined for the tone pattern. Information associated with the transmission of the reference signal using the tone pattern and the overlay code may be communicated by the receiving device.

Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining a position of a user equipment (UE). A differential round-trip-time (RTT) based positioning procedure is proposed to determine the UE position. In this technique, the UE position is determined based on the differences of the RTTs between the UE and a plurality of base stations. The differential RTT based positioning procedure has much looser inter-gNodeB timing synchronization requirements than the OTDOA technique and also has much looser group delay requirements than traditional RTT procedures.

The first base station transmits, and the second base station receives, the reference radar signal and the at least one target radar signal in accordance with the radar slot format.

The method further includes expanding the value into a numerical system with base N into a plurality of digits. The method also includes determining a number and/or a location of the plurality of digits to transmit based on a deterministic task assignment rule received from the base station or a probabilistic task assignment rule. The method further includes transmitting the determined number and/or the determined location of the plurality of digits to the base station.

Abstract: A base station may precode a first reference signal using a first precoder (P1) and at least one second reference signal using at least one second precoder (P2). At least two UEs may measure the first reference signal and the at least one second reference signal, and transmit channel state feedback based on the measuring (m11 and m12 for a first UE, and m21 and m22 for a second UE). The channel state feedback may comprise channel state information compressed by at least one neural network. The base station may derive a higher-level precoder (W) for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink transmission to the at least two UEs.
