Abstract:
The invention relates to a pelleting press for the production of feed pellets for the like. The aim of the invention is to enable easy and economical separation of the mold in order to change said molds. This is achieved in that guided clamping elements (17) are arranged between the mold (8) and a pressure ring (13) of the mold carrier (11) in such a way that they can be displaced axially (11) so that the mold (8) can be released and clamped by axial displacement by means of a flat contact surface between the screws (18) of the clamping segments (17) and the pressure ring (13).
Abstract:
A molding method for moldable bio-substance materials comprises crushing the bio-substance materials into an incompact state, and then extruding and molding the same. There is at least a wedged extruding cavity is formed between the extruding head and the extruding surface of the molding die. The movement between the extruding head and the extruding surface of molding die is a differential speed movement, and the particles of the materials are extruded between these two surfaces and are grinded, twisted up, stretched, flaked, and then extruded to the small end of the wedged extruding cavity, and further into the molding cavity of molding die to be molded therein. The molding method and equipment of this invention can give the molded product certain strength and water-fastness without using any chemical binders. It is convenient for storing the product and keeping the product in a functional state, and thus it minimizes the cost for fabrication, transportation and storage.
Abstract:
A process for upgrading brown coal is disclosed, including providing at least two converging surfaces defining a nip, wherein at least one of the surfaces is rollable in a direction toward the nip; feeding the brown coal to the nip where, by the rolling action of the rollable surface, the brown coal is subjected to shearing stresses, causing attritioning of the microporous structure of the brown coal and the release of water contained in the micropores; and continuing the shearing attritioning until the brown coal forms into a plastic mass. Processes for the production of char are also disclosed utilizing as feed material pellets formed from the upgraded brown coal produced by the above process, as well as a process for recovering metal from a metal containing material.
Abstract:
A pelleting press for pressing from a powdery, granular and/or pasty material compacted rod-shaped pieces of said material, comprising a die (1) with one or more rotatable rolls (6) co-operating therewith each having an axis (5) supported in such a manner that it is situated in a plane through the axis (3) of the die (1) and a gap (9) is defined between the die (1) and the or each roll (6), further comprising means for supplying the material to be pressed towards the or each gap (9), and driving means for moving the die (1) and the or each roll (6) in respect of the material supplied to the or each gap (9), all this in such a manner that the supplied material when moving in the gap between the die and a roll is compacted and is pressed through the apertures (2), the support of the die and/or the or each roll being so that the gap height is adjustable, the driving means being adapted for driving the die as well as the or each roll, and the velocity of at least the die or the each roll being independently variable.
Abstract:
A quick die change capability is provided to a pellet mill by means of a fixture spider which can be attached to the pelleting die and to the rollers for a unitized roller/die cartridge. By employment of quick acting captive die clamps, as well as push-pull jacks, assembly and dismantling of the die/roller cartridge in the mill is simplified. Three axis adjustability of the fixture spider enhances ease of alignment.
Abstract:
An automatic control for a pellet mill includes a method for automatically calculating start values for feeder speed and steam valve position upon start-up of the pellet mill for pelleting particular formulas of feed. The method includes the step of monitoring the pellet mill to determine optimal feeder speed and steam valve position when the mill is running at optimal conditions, and then adjusting these values by a fixed percentage in order to determine the start-up values. As the steam valve is non-linear, another method is disclosed for converting the steam valve position to a corresponding steam flow, multiplying the optimal steam flow by the same fixed percentage, and then reconverting the starting steam flow value to a corresponding steam valve position. The fixed percentage used to determine the start values may be adjusted, depending upon how aggressive the operator desires the start-up to be and perhaps to adjust for differences in pellet formulations.
Abstract:
A drop former includes an outer rotary steel body having circumferentially spaced openings which successively reach a lower discharge position to enable viscous material to drop onto a cooling conveyor from within the outer body. An inner steel body, which can be stationary or rotating, is situated within the outer body to direct viscous material to the openings as the openings reach the discharge portion. An electrical inductive heating coil is situated adjacent one or both of the bodies to inductively heat the body, avoiding excessive heating of the viscous material.
Abstract:
A compaction mill 10 comprises a rotary die plate 12 and a plurality of compaction rollers 14 spaced circumferentially along the inside of the die plate. Sprockets and chains provide a positive drive connection between the die plate 12 and the compaction rollers 14, ensuring that, in operation, there is substantially no relative slip between the outer peripheries of the rollers and the inner periphery of the die plate, where they are closest together. Guides 44 cooperating with sliding blocks 38, 40 constrain the rollers 14 against rotation about the axis of rotation of the die plate, whilst permitting guided displacement of the rollers in a radial direction with respect to said axis. Wedge members 46, 48, a screw threaded rod 50, and nuts 52 are provided to permit adjustment of the gap between the rollers and the die plate, and to make radial displacement of the individual rollers interdependent.
Abstract:
Apparatus for extracting precious metals from their ores in which the ore is particulated and mixed with a binding agent to form a paste. The paste material is discharged into a rotary drum at an extruding station where it is pelletized by forcing it through a perforated sidewall of the drum. The pellets are discharged onto a conveyor belt and are transported to a spray station where they are wetted with a lixiviant solution. The lixiviant coated pellets are then dried by exposure to a heated air stream at a drying station as they are transported to an open air curing stockpile. The cured pellets are heaped in a pile and are then washed with a water spray to yield a pregnant solution of a precious metal salt.
