This invention refers to a self-transported or towed equipment whose purpose is to collect, compact, and bag domestic, industrial and farming waste. The equipment is made up of a chassis (1) supporting a closed body (2) that is opened at both ends and has a back cover (4) to close the body and a moveable front compression plate (5). A clasping device of the accordion-like tube encircles the back part of the body (1). A bag sealing mechanism (3), operated by hydraulic cylinders (35, 36) and pliers on (31) presses the loaded bag and squeezes it so as to place a sealing band manually. The lower part of the back cover (4) pivots on the chassis through a hydraulic cylinder (41) which is placed at the bottom of the chassis (1) and pulls cables (42) through grooved pulleys (43). The compression plate (5) is operated through a hydraulic system (6) made up of telescopic arms (61) propelled by independent hydraulics cylinders (62).
Abstract:
An elongated container of a truck has a closed front end wall and a hinged rear outlet closure, and a side infeed opening for receiving garbage. This empty container is configured to receive an elongated base upon which is mounted a reciprocating conveyor floor for moving garbage in the container outward through the opened rear closure for deposit at a garbage disposal site. The power drive mechanism for driving the reciprocating floor is located at the front end of the container and is shielded from input garbage by a deflector secured to the reciprocating floor. The deflector also serves as a pusher for compacting and moving garbage in the container out through the opened rear closure. The self-contained reciprocating floor is easily carried manually and fed through the opened rear closure and secured firmly in the truck container.

A spill shield assembly for a refuse collection vehicle includes a slide panel assembly comprising a front slide panel and a rear slide panel. The assembly is applicable to vehicles having a refuse collection compartment, a refuse storage compartment and a packer ram assembly having a packer face plate. One of the front and rear slide panels of the spill shield assembly is adapted to slide over the other between an extended position in which the slide panels have no more than a small amount of overlap and are disposed generally horizontally when the packer face plate is in a rearward position and a retracted position in which the slide panels are significantly overlapped and are disposed at an angle so as to direct any material falling thereon into the collection compartment when the packer face plate is in a forward position.

A stackable refuse collection container including a body having a bottom and an open top, the body constructed to be nestingly stacked with at least one similar body through the open top. A cover is formed to engage the body and close the top. An engagement mechanism is coupled to the body and the cover, the engagement mechanisms moveable between an engaged position securing the cover onto the body to allow compaction of refuse therein, and a disengaged position permitting removal of the cover from the open top. A loading door is formed in an end of the body for receiving refuse from a compactor mechanism.
Abstract:
A refuse collection vehicle is provided with a dual chute system for receiving sorted refuse from curbside containers that have one or two compartments. A powered lifting system elevates the curbside container, dumping sorted refuse into the dual chute system. A divided diverter plate with two panel portions present within the vehicle chute allows an operator to direct refuse into selected, segregated storage compartments within the refuse vehicle. In this manner, presorted refuse from the curbside container may be collected without any intermingling of such presorted refuse. The diverter plate has one driven portion and one free swinging portion. These portions may be joined by a temporary link to allow the free swinging panel portion to be positioned by the driven panel portion.

A manual side loading refuse vehicle has a plurality of refuse storage compartments and an equal number of hopper compartments divided by means of a slide separator attached to a pack blade which moves together with said pack blade to compact the refuse. The wall dividing the refuse storage compartments is vertically and rearwardly tapered. A rear hinged door is provided for each refuse storage compartment. The door is unlatched and opened by means of a directional movement of a hydraulic cylinder and closes and latches by means of movement of the hydraulic cylinder in the opposite direction.

Abstract:
A refuse collection container for mounting on a vehicle. The container is particularly suitable for separating and compacting recyclable materials due to the provision of a longitudinally extending diagonal partition. The container has a pair of refuse receiving buckets preferably adapted to be raised into alignment with apertures in the front wall of the container. Recyclable materials, sorted by type in the buckets, are then moved into the container by a compactor blade in each bucket. Discharge of the materials is facilitated by providing for swinging movement of the partition prior to the vehicle being in the dumping position. The partition is extensible so that when positioned diagonally with respect to side walls of the container, the partition extends to the discharge end of the container.
